Born in Dunedin, NZ. Prolific drawer from early childhood. Represented Otago province in rugby and athletics. Livestock farmer in Maniototo, NZ until 1987. 1988 moved to Sydney with the aim to focus on sculpture. No formal art training. Ongoing attendance at artist-run life drawing classes.

Amazing...the Rialto built about 25yrs ago and still looks so impressive in todays standard.

It's always going to be one of my favourite Melbourne skyscrapers. It hasn't aged at all.

I love the contrast of old and new in that railto shot. Beautiful.

Nice! Did you just get that 6D?

Yes, I got it on Wednesday - amazing low light focus and noise handling - slower on fps (4.5) and slightly slower focussing speed - just noticeable with my style of shooting but I have not missed a shot yet.

Colours look fantastic as is the sharpness!

Its amazing at ISO 6400 and even 12800 - excellent for night shots and interior shots hand held. Only problem is I need to change all my EF-S lenses (traded the 7D and 15-85mm when I bought the 6D) - need to sell my 10-22 and BG-E7 battery grip. I have a collection of EF lenses already which helps. I have been wanting to go FF for a while now and my 7D was 3 years old (and 100 K clicks later) already so the timing was right.

I don't find the 7D usable beyond ISO 4000! 7D, 10-22mm and 15-85mm is my current kit. I plan on keeping it for sports shooting, can probably sell the zooms though because the 6D is sure to do a better job at urban walk around and architecture.

I never took the 7D past 3200 as it just got too noisy. I currently have the 16-35 L 2.8 (MK I), the 24-105 L IS F4 and the 70-200 L F4 IS EF lenses. My main lens is the 24-105 - which covers 80% of what I shoot. The 70-200 I use for events and the wide for architecture and interiors.

Its a Tokina 10-17mm F3.5 -4.5 DX Fisheye I purchased a few years back and used on the 1DIIN. It works on the 6D but I have to set it to 14.5mm otherwise I get the lens hood in the image.
