In an attempt to allow for more freedom in discussing certain local issues, I've revised the list of allowed threads in the "P&C Updates" and "Infrastructure & Transport" sections of our forum.
P&C Updates
In essence, each city of at least 50,000 inhabitants can now have it's own P&C thread. As a result, regional threads will be closed and a general P&C thread will be created to accommodate all cities of under 50,000 inhabitants. If a city is eligible for a P&C thread, but there aren't enough users willing to post updates, we can use the general P&C thread until enough users willing to contribute to a distinct thread show up.
Furthermore, if you feel a project in your city is important enough for the country or the region, or if it's unique in some way, you can open a thread for that particular project. Say a quality highrise is going up in Galati, for example. You can open a thread for it. All I'm asking is that you objectively consider the importance of the given project before you decide to open a thread. Don't open such threads for small, relatively unimportant projects; you're thread will get closed.
Infrastructure & Transport
This section will remain the same for the most part, but now you can open public transport thread for any city of at least 100,000 inhabitants. All other cities, will have the general public transport thread, just like until now. The airports and airlines threads will soon be merged into one and you can now open individual threads for major infrastructure projects in your city or region, but please, no routine street works or roundabouts; these must be major projects.
Also please don't mix the P&C stuff with infrastructure. Buildings (highrises, malls, stadiums etc.) go in "P&C Updates", motorways, bridges, over/underpasses, streets, airports etc. go in "Infrastructure & Transport". You can open an Infrastructure & Transport thread for each city above 100,000. It's you're call if you're also going to discuss public transport there or if you're going to open a dedicated PT thread.
I know that this isn't what many of you expected (i.e. total freedom/City Life sections), but for the bigger cities that are already pretty active it's an interim solution that will allow for expansion.
Please keep in mind that these changes are for on-topic discussions. You now have more freedom and space to discuss what we're all here for, so the tolerance on off-topic just got lower.
