We are known as the Water Tower of Africa so let's showcase pictures of rivers (small, large, urban or rural), lakes (natural, artificial, crater, salt, fresh, etc), waterfalls and springs.

For example, in terms of lakes, we all know the usual suspects (Awassa, Tana, etc), but we have dozens of others that few know about. Even "deserts" like the Afar depression and the Ogaden have rivers and/or lakes.

woah! That river takes with it a LOT of sediment and dirt.

and pic nr 2 and 3 are pretty damn epic ;)

Almost all of Ethiopia's rivers are brown because of that. That's why the Nile delta in Egypt is the most fertile part of the world. 96% of the sediment comes from our highlands.

Very nice abesha, we need more pics of our rivers and lakes. Nice pics, I wish more trees would be planted in areas where large amounts of sediments are being taken by the rivers to prevent erosion. The government and private citizens must do more in this regard. Plant trees!
