Here we are, just inside Loop 410, looking south toward downtown from the Balcones Escarpment, the southern terminus of the Texas Hill Country.

On the upper left is a glimpse of the USAA building, the (so I'm told) largest single-tenant private office building in the US. Note the vulture circling over the Westin La Cantera Resort. I wish I could say that portends something.

The campus in the middleground is the University of Texas-San Antonio, my alma mater and home to ~28,000 eager young students who will probably end up moving away.

San Antonio can't have all-glass buildings downtown (not "historic"), but we're still allowed to have them in the boonies.

These are some awesome pictures--San Antonio's better areas are extremely picturesque, perhaps even more than Austin landscape-wise. What a blessed and unique city.

Awesome photo collection of suburban San Antone popnfresh. :okay: I grew up on the Northeast side of town in both Schertz & Converse for about 7 yrs as an Air Force brat. My favorite part of town has always been the Northwest area especially going out I-10 West near Loop 1604.

Weeks, even months Fingerprint access control (http://www.idinnova.com/) of found objects, there will still be use for a Fingerprint Time Attendance (http://www.idinnova.com/) tarpaulin rescued Fingerprint access control (http://www.idinnova.com/) from the debris of the Maytime polls. Some may try to stretch it and perhaps bounce up and down on Fingerprint Time Attendance (http://www.idinnova.com/), but that would make it a trampoline, which general material Fingerprint access control (http://www.idinnova.com/) is not suited for

Large US city, yes, but not a large US metro. Skylines are more reflective of the metro's size, if reflective of anything, and it matters not the population residing inside the city limits.

San Antonio is the 28th largest metro, comparable in size to Cleveland, Orlando, Kansas City, and Las Vegas, and its skyline is more reflective of that, as opposed to having the skyline of a city of 1.35 million, the 7th largest in the US.

Thanks for posting the thread here, popnfresh.

Atlanta and Miami (one of Dallas' suburbs is almost as big as Miami proper forgot which) are good examples of the opposite. Huge metro, not as big as it's skyline might show city proper. Love the hills! Sea World is about as close to NW San Antonio I've been to but at the time was quite under developed.

Not sure what you meant by more picturesque than Austin, while I agree the hill country near San Antonio is a great area, thats just what it is, near San Antonio. You have to drive pretty far out from the center of the city before you run into hills. The Hill country bumps up to within a mile of downtown Austin, the entire western side of the city of Austin is within the hill country. Add to that the Colorado river and several lakes, you have some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere in the state of Texas. A friend of mine from San Antonio visiting over the memorial day weekend said as we were driving to the Oasis over Lake Travis, "now this is the real hill country"

Great pictures of a great city...

What? Miami has 5 million people! no individual city in DFW has 5 million people!

Incorrect.

The latest estimates from the U.S. census bureau have the city of Miami's population at 413,201.

DFW cities with a larger population include Dallas at 1,279,910, and Fort Worth at 703,073.

The next largest DFW city is Arlington which has a population of 361,217 according to the latest estimates.

Right, Miami Metro area has 5.4 million. Wikipeda should have the population of the city proper in the 1st paragraph.
