Are these letters written by real people or just a work of fiction?

There's a few spoof ones out there like the welsh brother or the cross dressing husband but even the genuine letters don't ring true.

Also why Agony Aunt, where are all the Agony Uncles, or is it a job for women only.

Don't be silly now......men have 'real' jobs to do.

I guess the answer could be as it's mostly women that write to the Agony page in a Mag, it makes sense for a women to respond.
