This tower will cater to the commercial needs of various commodities industries. Providing an ideal base for regional operations, the tower is due for completion early 2006. Standing 35 floors high this tower will be available on a lease basis.

Yeah, but it also looks like the idea is "stolen" from Al Salam Tower. You can see some indifference, though its exactly the same.

The DMCC ad boards put in place just a couple of days ago in SZR between 5th and 6th interchange have the same rendering but with the name ELAF.

The problem is that the boards are small and hanging on the lamp poles in the middle section between the lanes.

I didn't dare to take a picture this morning going at 140 at the left lane.

I checked the DMCC website but wasn't updated. A quick Google search found only towers in Saudi Arabia. I think like AU = Gold and Almas = Diamond, Elaf should be Arabic word for something precious, maybe a safir or rubin stone.

However it's all true, just wait and see.

I actually read in an interview with Wahid Atallah, The bloke from Nakheel, that there would be a total of 78 towers at JLT instead of the planned 69. Any word on that?:dunno:

No, no, no ... that means that the tower is renamed to ELAF and soon it will appear under that name in the web site. From what I've seen on the boards, maybe there were some cosmetical changes to the old design, but the name is clearly ELAF.

Maybe ELAF in Arabic means Commodity

almas and au gold have been launched already, we're still waiting for this one here

i saw an ad somewhere on a property site today for "new dmcc tower in jlt" but thought it was au gold ...and had no closer look.
try to find it again, maybe more information on elaf...!
btw early 2006 seems far fetched for that one...

guys, this tower has been renamed again and additionally they gave it a new design

the tower is now called AG Tower, ag stands for argentum = silver, while the othwer one is the AU Tower , au stands for aurum=gold

Dubai Metals and Commodities Centre (DMCC) today announced the launch of a third commercial tower for sale on freehold basis.

Named the Ag Tower, its launch follows the overwhelming response from DMCC members for the Almas and Au towers, which were introduced earlier this year and sold out almost immediately after launch.

The 37-floor Ag tower, like its predecessors, is available only for DMCC registered companies.

Ag is the chemical symbol for silver, one of the primary commodities whose derivates will be traded at the Centre's Exchange, the Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange, when it becomes operational in November this year.

Ahmed bin Sulayem, COO of DMCC of said: 'The Ag Tower is themed alongside our other towers to house businesses dealing in gold and precious metals, diamonds and coloured stones, energy and other commodities.'

'Making available freehold commercial properties is a proof of our commitment towards our members, who have always wanted to own their own office premises in the DMCC free zone. We are expecting tremendous response to the launch of this tower given the interest that we have had from our members for the Almas and Au Towers in the recent past,' added Sulayem.

In January this year, the Almas Tower, which had a total sellable area of over 725,000 square feet, was fully sold out on the same day of its launch. Residents will include leading international businesses like Christies, Rosy Blue, GIA, Eurostar, the Love Diamond Company, Tache, Kristall and regional players such as Damas, Taiba and within the diamond sector. The Au Towers was also fully sold out in less than 48 hours of its launch. The total sellable area in the Au Tower was approximately 400,000 square feet on 37 stories. It was sold to clients representing all links of the gold value chain.
