Use of the Metromover in the downtown area will be a big draw, and fantastic convenience for the residents of these new condos. Rather than pay $30 for parking and waiting in traffic to exit the area, I'm taking the free Metromover from the Brickell on the River to the American Airlines Arena! From the Metromover to the Shaq bandwagon in 10 minutes flat.

LOL, MIAballinboi, No Problem, I just found out today from the sales office of THE OPERA TOWER inside BAY PARC Tower next to the Construction site 53 stories around 572 ft., and the QUANTUM TOWERS up two blocks away 52 stories for tower 1 at around 554 ft. and the second tower around 500 ft. I'm still checking on ONYX 2 at 50 stories and ICE 2 at 52 stories, these two are still in the planning stages. WOW I CAN'T WAIT to see the Consruction here ALL AT ONCE beginning NEXT YEAR 2005.

Yeah! I mentioned this in another thread somewhere....but this weekend I was at a conference at the Hyatt...where Brickell Ave meets the River on the North bank. The funny thing is that it is great now, but most of the people sitting on the waterfront cafe on such a beautiful day were tourists from a Hong Kong Jewerly convention!!!
The day was perfect, the river was teaming with pleasure boaters, some commerical vessels and a few stinkin' Manatees!! :bash:

if the model is to be trusted, it should have the spire ballinboi. it's hard to tell from the pics i've seen, but it looks like both towers have that curved thing at the top with an antenna in the middle.

it'll be interesting to see if they actually build it like that. we know how they like to skimp on details like that around here these days.

the original renderings showd a gracious like over a hundred foot tall spire, which would have added a touch to the skyline, hopefully they make it!

You're right Dale, Miami doesn't have that many spires, is a good thing Brickel on the river will have one. I'd love to see the Four Seasons with 2 big antennas one on each side

Well I guess it's good that it's topped off, even though I was hoping that it would climb a little higher. I remember seeing some kind of a design on top of the building in one of the renderings, so hopefully once that's installed it will add a little more height to it. Right now it doesn't look like it's much more than 400'. What is the final height supposed to be?

The views won't be effected much in the first tower...BotR is on the north side of 5th Street and the 500 Brickell is on the South side of 5th street, about a block to the east.

It looks like the boys topped off tower one, and the parking deck/is on about 6th of 11 floors. They will likely start on tower two in the next week or so.

Also JR :) , Look vert closly to those TALL OUTER Spikes Sticking out from the 42nd FLLOR up to the TOP where the SPIRE is in the MIDDLE of the TOWER, THAT SPIRE, My Friend is going up another 40 FEET HIGH. When THIS Brickell ON THE RIVER Condo TOWER # 1 is Completed it will be very Near 500 FEET, with still ONLY 42 FLOORS. :cheers:

Also, Chuck, if Brickell on the River's height ends up changing (spire on top), see if you can find out from those crews so we can email changes to emporis. I got an idea, any specific height updates to any buildings, if we could double-post them also on the "New building heights" thread, to try to consolidate them and make it easier to forward on.

If so, then the entire structure really isn't 100% topped off yet, which is good! But it will be soon, which is better!

TRUE JR :) , Its Going HIGHER as for the Next Month, The Cooling Towers were set in Under the Current ROOF, you can see the Tower FLAT TOP NOW in the Wachovia CAM, its There NOW with a Beautiful SUNSET :) , its Great., :cheers: The Tower SPIRE should be TOPPPED OUT at the End of DECEMBER, with a HALE MARY PARTY on TOP, LOL. :cheers:

VERY Near 500 Feet MIAballinboi :) , BUT Last I heard it was Only 482 FEET, which is Still Good for the First TOWER, The Brickell on the River 2 will be OVER 500 FEET, for SURE !!! :cheers:

NO Problem Uptown-Midtown :) , Click on the center of the PIC again and again , the PIC will comw in CLEARER, and LOOK at the GREEN spot on the top of the Tower to the west side of it, its there in green, Like a GREEN BLOB, with a stick into the TOWER at the top of the PIC. Keep trying , you'll get it, :cheers:

brickell on the river is starting to look real good, & it's tall enough now that it's showing up in the skyline from all kinds of different angles. i was shocked to see it (although, really, i shouldn't have been) through the cbd from i-95 heading south.

you never realize how much one building can help a skyline til you see it somewhere you never expected to see it. but it's a nice surprise when you do!

yes its having a BIG impact in the skyline, as in todays herald busines section it shows a pic of a cruise ship in miami, and the skyline and you can really see the new cranes and towers

Agreed. I was at the Metromover stop by the Federal Courthouse (N 8th Street maybe) and looked south down Miami Avenue, and there was Brickell on the River as if it were standing in the left turn lane!! Very nice.
