Lübeck is a town with ca. 216.000 inhabitants (city proper) situated ca. 100 km east of Hamburg.

It was the seat of the late medieval Hanse, a very powerful trade organization of many towns around the north and baltic sea and some inland towns (from London in the West till Novgorod in the East, Bergen and Stockholm in the North and Cologne in the South).
Lübeck has still a lot of medieval buildings in the city center which belong to the UNESCO World heritage and clearly dominate the skyline (better: they MAKE the skyline).

I could post so many beautyful pics of the buildings and streets alone. But this is a skyline poll. :)

This is a nice looking German city. I really like the German style of architecture. For that reason I give it a 7/10.

Come on, beautiful, yet this is rate the skyline not rate the low line. 2/10.

It is hard to find photos of Lübecks skyline on the net. And I didn´t want to show you photos of single buildings.

I don't see a skyline

I don't really like it cuz the towers look so similar. 4.5/10

they look similair?
the cathedral looks way diffrent than st. mary or st. jacobi, and st. aegidielen looks totally diffrent than st. petri!

Yes from a distance (skylines mostly are seen from distance so details get lost - at least here) like on the pic above those towers look very similar. => green roofs on red walls. I didn't specifically vote the architecture - just the "skyline"..

I grew up 2 hours north of the city in America named Lubbock, TX. I know a bunch of German immigrants came to Texas and now i have a good idea where they got the name.

I think it is a fantastic example of a historical Northern European Skyline. You cannot find this very often in the world.

Lubeck has one of the most beautiful skylines in Germany and Europe. Words can't describe it. 9/10
