The Landmark Tower was a aging old tower that was obsolete in the minds of developers. The other two had sinking issues, I think.

Be wary of the word "obsolete."

I thought this thread had a cool, nifty virus I could get.

That last shot of Ocean Tower from that neighborhood was awesome. It looked like the damn thing just melted!

The condo at 1515 Flagler was demolished because of hurricane damage

I love the explosions but i got a little downbeat on seeing the Aladdin and Stardust come down. Doesn't the strip have a lot of extra space that they can save these marvels of Las Vegas history. Pity.

I wish they didn't demolish famous Las Vegas Landmark. It was very impressive looking back in the 60's. I guess Las Vegas prefer to keep everything new and stay in style no matter what.

It splits in two by design for the movie by undercutting the western half of the tower, then having that half slowly drag the rest of it down by tipping over onto itself. You should post that one. I don't know how to imbed videos. Here's a little time lapse of the McGuire Building's parking garage in Seattle being deconstructed. Unfortunately it's going to be a long noisy process! The tower itself is 26 stories and only about 8 years old but shoddy construction means it needs to come down.
