Got my first look of the Pere Marquette Square plan for Milwaukee. This would redevelop and preserve a portion of the Journal Communications/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel property west of Pere Marquette Park and open up development opportunities for the properties surrounding the park. This would be similar to the "Milwaukee Center" when it preserved the Pabst and The Rep theaters and built a new office hi-rise and hotel. Something very similar could be done here like the "CNN Center" to create a center for Television, Radio, Internet and Newspaper operations. Here are some pics of the Pere Marquette Square catalytic project from the City of Milwaukee posted on the urbanmilwaukee.com website. The pics are large in size to see this clearly.

This plan along with the rest of the Downtown Milwaukee Plan is going through the City Plan Commission today and will go to the Common Council in September. After that is when things for the "Pere Marquette Square" and other parts of the Downtown Milwaukee Plan will go into the proposal stages for individual projects.

I think the plan is great and it will make the square more attractive and more effective in the local market and also for the tourists as well.
The commercial value would be unimaginable if the plan completes with in the time limit. It will generate lot of business activity in the area.
