strange, i am not very familiar with this one, but its form and massing reminds me of the AT&T corporate center in chicago.

the outside seems to have a ricardo bofill thing going on, even though he is not the architect.

Great use of colours, and nice shape, which, as sharptent already pointed out, is similar to Chicago's AT&T Corporate Center.

8/10 - Good soaring height, helped by the contrast between white mullions and dark glass, and the tower's indentations and setbacks. The facade is nice and sleek.
The butresses on the base are an interesting touch, but I can't quite tell from the pics how well the base fits in with the tower, and the top doesn't quite seem worthy of the tower either - they needed a few more small setbacks up there, I think...
The tower really stands out here.

This is my favorite building at night. I saw this in Shanghai
a couple of months ago. The lights dance over the entire
structure, all different colors and shapes. It's so playful.
You have to see it in motion to understand why the night
light show is so impressive on this building.

Why does it have that name?? Shouldnt it go in HK??

looks ugly. Especially with the over-massive first few floors. Better to demolish it and construct a slim and tall structure like the new 430m tower in HK!:guns1:

When you look to the renderings it realy looks a bit like the Rockefeller centre in New York.

I like the Tower but at the same time, 2 spires arent my personal taste.

7/10..It's unique, but the colors make it look dull and boring. If they adjusted the colors this one could have been way better. You also don't feel that tallness, when seeing it.

The design looks like it's not worked out.

Facade is over done.. Much like how the spires are overdone too.. I guess the overdone facade was to hide that this scraper is actually a box! :bash:

Would be a fantastic sleek tower if those strips of grey/white weren't there. They look a bit stuck on. Would be better if the strips were a darker colour. Otherwise, a nice tall building with well proportioned setbacks.

A pretty average building. I like the shape and the double spires but the facade is too busy and the white is not white enough and the dark is not dark enough to pull off what the designers wanted. Also the building is way too pointy.

knda unique(also makes me remind of the AT&T building in CHI). um.....7 I dont really like this style, especially when the building was completed in 2002

I think this one might be seriously underrated because on the 2nd 3rd and 4th pics of the topic it is actually disaplayed unfinished and with some ugly construction equipment up there. The finished product can be seen on the first pic.

I happen to have some night pics of the tower (I didn't realize it was this one at first, didn't notice it was that tall as I was a bit too far ^^ ). Sorry for they are not too good, I had no tripod and had to use short exposure to capture the color correctly, hence the pics are quite dark.

I do like this tower, it turns out quite nice, and the spire looks great. But honestly I think the night show with all the colors is a bit too much of an electricity-wasting craziness ^^

Great design, plus i have a view of it out my window, I wake up to this building everyday. Its amazing that in most cities, this would be the main skyscraper, but here in Shanghai it is an afterthought.
