Jeff from Winnipeg November 17th, 2002, 08:01 AM The color is great, it's sleek and it's nice and it carries its height quite well. One of my T.O. favs ->9/10
Muse November 17th, 2002, 08:21 AM Love that flat-bed scanner look of this one. Great form.
My favourite in Toronto also.

Liz L November 18th, 2002, 01:38 AM 7.5/10 - Takes to the sky really well, and the vertical setbacks add a lot to the shape; there's also good contrast between the broad and narrow faces. It's definitely not just anoter box.
The major problem is the facade - it's sleek and catches the light nicely from some angles, but, outside of the cutout "V" at the top, is somehow a bit bland when it's not dancing with the light...once again, all those little windows remind me of holes in a cheese grater...
SUNNI November 18th, 2002, 01:52 PM i love it, its got a very interesting design. The top, i dont know what to say, its just awesom! Its a great landmark as there are not many tall buildings nearby. its all Toronto has to offer;)

DaninTO January 4th, 2003, 05:18 AM Best in Toronto. Would have been over 1000 ft. if they had of neglected the look of the tower. 10/10
SeeMacau January 5th, 2003, 06:52 AM My favouite Toronto building and it's so tall
9/10
London™ February 2nd, 2003, 12:24 AM 10/10... 'cause it's a canadian building. i'm biased..
hireliberty February 3rd, 2003, 03:58 PM I have been there before... Nothing special, really ;o)
renell February 4th, 2003, 06:06 PM one side looks good but the other one looks flat 7
Andy6 February 5th, 2003, 03:27 AM Total drivel, architecturally speaking. Not grossly offensive, but making no statement whatever except "let's cram a lot of corner offices into this thing." I rate it a 4.
1+2=3 February 15th, 2003, 06:49 PM Nice interior!
7.5/10
cabasse February 16th, 2003, 10:34 AM Totally kickass building. My favorite in Toronto.
Beautiful too.
9/10
DrumCorpsAlum February 22nd, 2003, 10:27 PM Not bad. I sound like a broken record here, but I am giving out yet another 7.5/10.
The Messiah February 23rd, 2003, 10:25 PM Oh yeah!:)I really like these kind of towers. This one really looks because of it's colour and slimmines!
9.5/10
The Messiah February 23rd, 2003, 10:30 PM Edit!
nostyle February 24th, 2003, 06:17 AM It doesn't get much better than this, IMO. It is the best that canada has to offer and it is top 5 in the world IMO. In person it was spectacular...so thin yet so tall, it was incredible to stand next to. 9.5
SHORTY March 1st, 2003, 11:43 PM Standing on King looking up at this beauty is in my opinion an absolute necessity for any true skyscraper buff. A truely breath taking building to see in person!
Byron March 2nd, 2003, 12:24 AM I dont think alot of people realize the size of this building its mammoth, especially in its width. Thats what makes this building so spectacular to me.
copan March 18th, 2003, 06:13 AM I work at Scotia Plaza on the top floor (68th floor). It has great views from all sides and spacious floor plans. Not much to complain about except when the fire alarm rings and it is a long way down the stairs.
hkskyline March 18th, 2003, 08:57 AM I worked on the 68th trading floor as well a few years ago. The view northwards from the kitchen is very nice considering nobody is tall enough back there to block the view.
huaiwei April 8th, 2003, 05:29 PM Too simplified in form, which to me dosent seem to lend it that air of grace. A 7/10 from me.
Evergrey April 11th, 2003, 04:05 AM 7 Another example of Toronto's conservative architecture
airsickpenthousedweller April 16th, 2003, 10:30 PM Makes me want to start counting the windows, but doesn't strike me as a building.
TropicalSQ744 May 5th, 2003, 04:11 PM Interesting how this scraper gives u different impressions when viewed at different angles... :) I like how it looks slim at one side but massive when viewed from the front.. Not bad
8.5/10
vivayo May 10th, 2003, 02:21 AM You are right shorty, If you stand in the intersection of Bay and King streets it is just amazing how tall and slim this tower is, plus that in that corner you also have the Fisrt canadian place, the commerce court and the TD tower all of them are TO's tallest, while I lived in Toronto that was my favorite spot.
rj2uman May 21st, 2003, 07:05 AM 9/10 my fave in Toronto.
DrJoe July 24th, 2003, 05:48 PM Absolute stunning building...9/10
Labrador July 24th, 2003, 07:05 PM 9.5/10

8,5/10
enzo July 27th, 2003, 09:20 AM 7/10
Not bad but not great either. Nothing to write home about but it is pleasantly tall and slim.
Looks Texan for some reason.........?
james2390 August 7th, 2003, 07:39 PM this one is my favorite in canada with montreals tallest. 10
AtlanticaC5 September 1st, 2003, 02:02 PM 7.5/10
SFtoBoise September 1st, 2003, 09:55 PM 7/10
New Jack City September 2nd, 2003, 06:16 AM 7/10...I like the unique reddish color chosen as well as it's slim shape as it makes the building soar gracefully. I don't like the change in facade that leads to the top, it's unnecessary.
ryanr September 6th, 2003, 05:54 PM Nice design, im not so sure about the color though...8/10
Patrick September 7th, 2003, 07:11 PM nice forms
8.5
ONE HUMAN October 10th, 2003, 07:37 AM It became my favorite Toronto skyscraper before it was even completed. Interesting and unique in both design and color; it's a welcome addition to the Toronto skyline. It's not a building to be confused with any other. If only it were twenty or thirty stories taller, then you'd really have something!
I'm wavering between 8.5 and 9, but since I'm a lifelong Scotiabank customer, I'll let my bias count for half a point. :D
Fabio November 8th, 2003, 03:35 AM 9.5/10
I love its design and colors.
MCC November 9th, 2003, 12:51 AM 8.5/10
luis November 9th, 2003, 02:47 AM For the front is not very special but the diferents angles 8.5/10:)
manx_bkk November 19th, 2003, 09:02 AM 7.5/10
Very Tall but has a plain design, I don't like the colour much.
Aquarius December 21st, 2003, 01:29 AM is boring, very simple,But I like it the color and the materials 7/10
RafflesCity February 6th, 2004, 06:33 AM Impressive in every detail, the 130' high Atrium features imported granite finishes throughout - and the same Tennessee marble that distinguishes the original Bank of Nova Scotia building on King Street. The Atrium links the past to the present in impressive fashion.
The Atrium is also a showcase for selected artwork from the Bank's distinguished collection. Decorating the north wall of the original banking headquarters is a magnificent marble bas-relief sculpture portraying workers from Canada's past, which is counter pointed on the south wall of the Atrium by the largest oil painted abstract mural ever commissioned in Canada - measuring over 100' high! The focal point of the Atrium is the "Circle of Provinces", a highly stylized banking service counter with dramatic columns and a circular top showcasing provincial coats of arms. Staffed by Scotiabank tellers during regular business hours, it offers a full complement of banking services.

Necker March 18th, 2004, 04:01 PM I don't like it much, but it looks so tall!! 7/10
7 World Trade April 3rd, 2004, 04:47 AM nothing really special about this one. like the brown facade, but they should try something else beside that v shaped setback.
8/10
bohemian|senses April 3rd, 2004, 12:10 PM Trully glorious! One of my favs ever! 10/10
Schroedinger's Cat June 28th, 2004, 02:26 PM 7.5/10
detroitboy04 June 30th, 2004, 03:27 AM Very slim and dominant, love the color too!!
digili_man July 7th, 2004, 11:24 PM gave it an 8, I like its cool white colour. It would look better with more designs...
digili_man July 7th, 2004, 11:31 PM ughh, how dumb am i? I was thinking of the first canadian place...well anyways...shoulda gave it a 9-9.5... just to say, this skyscraper is one of my favourite ones in canada!
yoyo22 July 22nd, 2004, 05:02 PM 9/10
While others said this did not "remind them of a building", I think this feels more like a stereotypical building. I like the color, and the massive yet slim feel this building conveys. I like the Setback on one side, and all the vertical strips and corners as well. The color is great, and this building really stands out. A little too unbroken in the vertical dimension for me, needs some horizontal detailing, but all in all a spectacular building.
Rapid August 4th, 2004, 07:42 AM I see this thing everyday, nice facade for Toronto.
dutchmetal August 5th, 2004, 09:19 AM 8,5 / 10

8/10
DamienK August 20th, 2004, 11:17 AM I like the sawtooth design - reminds me of the main shaft of the BankWest tower in my hometown, and the colour is distinctive too. 8/10.
David3820 August 26th, 2004, 10:30 PM I love it a whole lot but it's a little too skinny for my taste's. 9.5/10
flex August 26th, 2004, 11:06 PM i like it 9/10
Dubai-Lover August 27th, 2004, 08:55 PM like the V feature at the top, but the rest is only average! 6

Sitol447 October 31st, 2004, 12:23 AM 8,5/10 - I like it!
Zuelas November 2nd, 2004, 10:10 PM 8
I never really liked this bldg much but then in my mind I moved it to Chicago and I could appreciate it more then. I wouldn't necessarily want it as a landmark tower and I'd like it better w/out the V. Perhaps it's just that it doesn't look good in TO's skyline...... maybe after a few taller ones are built? Holds its own, tho.
empersouf November 5th, 2004, 02:56 PM 9.0
andysimo123 November 6th, 2004, 01:35 AM Its alright 6/10
Ashok November 8th, 2004, 06:38 AM like the hieght, love the design 9/10
elliot November 10th, 2004, 01:25 AM This is one of the most beautifully constructed buildings in the world (yeah, right). A single tower worth in excess of a billion greenbacks in 2004 dollars.
If God is in the details (and She definitely is) this is as good as it gets.
If you have a connecting flight to Timbuktu via Toronto, take a taxi to King and Bay and look up at this edifice.
Then go home and take a look at how your favorite skyscraper was constructed.
B@dGuYoM November 10th, 2004, 11:44 AM 8/10
Taufiq November 23rd, 2004, 04:44 AM Heh, imagine my surprise when the rest of the world thinks it's Toronto's best and holding a respectable position at #26.
9.5/10

ONE HUMAN November 24th, 2004, 11:56 PM For anyone that doesn't like this building, you don't know the first thing about architecture. Go play with your Lego blocks.
Some of the criticisms are laughable.
Nick in Atlanta November 25th, 2004, 12:29 AM 8.5/10 Very nice building all around. Much more interesting than the taller Bank of Montreal building (or whatever it's called now.)
Alturas January 3rd, 2005, 08:25 PM Definately not an eyesore!!...one of the better ones to look when I am in Toronto...

Justadude April 21st, 2005, 09:50 AM Not sure how I feel about this one. One minute I love it and the next I hate it. The design is neat to look at but it seems uninspired. The color is ok till you see it against the skyline. I definitely like the shape and the way it looks from different angles. I kinda I wish it had been a bit shorter to make the setbacks better-proportioned with the rest of the building.

Oriolus October 10th, 2005, 10:49 AM 9.5/10. Wow, such soaring height. Ordinarily all those square windows would be too much for me but I love the rich red earthy tones and the beautiful cut out at the top. Magnificent.

Best skyscraper in Toronto
Adam from Oz November 25th, 2005, 12:03 PM Best skyscraper in Toronto.
Would have rated it higher if the glass in the V section on top were even more reflective.
Classy.
8.5/10

Adam

Wow, now with my English. This building is totally Toronto born, what's the point on trying to fit this in another city? Well, this doesn't make scenes, or well, good job. Nothing to say about this batiment (Building). 9/10.

I think 20 years from now it will still look handsome, when some of the questionable novelty buildings going up now look dated and kitchy.
Canadian Chocho June 5th, 2006, 11:21 PM I like the building but not the colour.

ale26 June 20th, 2006, 04:11 AM I love this building...I can see it from my roof top in York!..It's very tall and beatiful. I just love it, it's so elegant. Definetly a change from boxy buildings in Toronto!

poisonous_ivy September 27th, 2006, 06:03 PM Awful colour killed not so bad building. Because of its narrow shape seems to be very high- and that's good. I dont like the top. Elevation would look better with another colour, really...No more than 7/10

fanfare November 29th, 2006, 04:17 AM I think the colour really suits the building, since it's the 'scotia bank colour', though i agree it's a bit unattractive. It's sleek, and aesthetically pleasing. It's tall too. Never been to Toronto, but yeah, better than any of the towers in my city. So 9.5/10
Avatar November 29th, 2006, 04:20 AM One of my favourite buildings in the world.
futureproof December 5th, 2006, 03:08 AM the color in the building really adds personality to it. the design is simplistic, yet, one of the great results of it
