This particular middle-class neighbourhood seems quite unkempt huh??.. Interesting photos though.

That's not a middle class neighborhood. It's mostly a working class neighborhood. At most almost half of its population is of lower middle class but over half of the population in Liniers are lower class immigrants and working class.

Liniers was once at least a decent neighborhood... you can see it in some of its old houses. But it is one of the neighborhoods with lower quality of life in the city.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering as to why a middle-class neighbourhood in BA would appear to be in such a state of decay. Indeed, some of these houses have clearly seen better and brighter days. Oh well, same all over of course.

Good pictures. Thank you for sharing these Kitano, and also for the information corsario albiceleste.

I am very interested in the barrios of Buenos Aires, especially the ones not usually visited by tourists. Please post more photos if you have them.

No problem. And yes, Liniers is a clear example of a neighborhood that fall in decay. :ohno:

Here you have a link two really mostly middle-middle class neighborhoods and far from touristics districts. Parque Chacabuco and Caballito.

It's a sad sight alright, but lets hope that some day in the future, neighbourhoods such as Liniers, can be somehow rejuvenated and brought back to life. I think they really do deserve it as they have so much character and history behind them.

The neighborhood looks quite interesting, maybe in the future this "barrio" will recover its glory days..

Liniers is not a middle class neighborhood, actually is a work class neighborhood, with a big decay in the last years.

Yes, yes OK!!... It looks a little bit rundown but still it can be considered as a middle class neighbourhood. An average working class area usually looks worse than this!!!

Kitano, las fotos sacadas por uno mismo van al 'urban showcase', decile a algun mod que te lo cambie de lugar... :okay: Otra cosa, fijate que queda mas apacible para la vista si dejas un espacio (un enter) entre foto y foto...

Buen thread!!

Yes, I was about to said that....

It's mostly a working class neighborhood that was once better. It's one of the three cheapest neighbnorhoods in the city out of almost 30 neighborhoods.

I guess that's why so many working class immigrants buy houses there in the last decade. It does hace nice old houses and the neighoood has seen brighter days indeed, I still remember those years myself.

Mmmmmnnnn..... Dunno. Perhaps not a middle class hood by American or Europe standards but still nice and charm.

Maybe not as grand and upkept as other parts of Buenos Aires, but it seems to have character and good potential to be nicer.

For me, doesn't have nothing wrong in this neighborhood, we are a country in development, and also for the common argentine this is a good neighborhood to live.

I dont understand why this bla bla bla. The title doesn't is: Liniers: A rich-class neighborhood.
