A NEW condominium is set to rise in Mabolo. Cebu City.

Majestic Legacy Development Corp. is set to break ground on its flagship project dubbed Lot 8 early next year, in response to the growing real estate and tourism industry of the city.

The company, owned by the Lua family, is a new player in the real estate business. The family’s other businesses are in construction, spring venture and shipping.

Majestic Legacy Development Corp. general manager Weena Lou Ty said the entry of the family into real estate signifies its confidence in Cebu’s healthy economy, as shown in the series of construction projects in the city.

Bullish

“Like any other player in the market, we are as bullish,” Ty said during a press conference on Wednesday.

She said the company hopes to focus on improving growth and innovating in their projects for Majestic High and Majestic Leisure.

Majestic High will focus on high rise vertical developments in Cebu while Majestic Leisure will focus on resort projects that aim to develop islands.

Lot 8 is Majestic High’s first project. It is a 16-storey high rise condominium with 231 units. Among its amenities are Wi-Fi connection, outdoor lap pool and commercial spaces for mini marts, laundry shops and others. The facility also allotted a five-storey parking area and a multi-purpose hall at the rooftop.

Room types

Lot 8 also has different room types, including Type S, an 18.77 square meters studio; Type C, a 24.94 square meters room with one bedroom; and Type B1, a 48.4 square meter room with two bedrooms. The prices of the units range from P1.2 million to P3 million.

Ty said that the company hopes to tap different market segments like overseas Filipino workers, foreigners, local tourists, businessmen and young professionals. The company hopes to deliver the units to buyers in 2012.

Aside from vertical developments, the company is also aggressive in developing resort type developments in the province. Ty said the company’s upcoming project is a resort in located in San Fernando, Camotes that is a joint venture with the government. Ty said the company has acquired a 7.5 hectare property in Camotes.

“But we will expand the acquisition to further entice investors to invest in the property,” she said.

Ty also said that with the bullish economy, the company will also accelerate eyeing more potential areas for their vertical developments.

During the recent Philippine Real Estate Festival last July in Manila, President Benigno Aquino III regarded tourism and real estate as “sunshine industries” for the national economy. He said that it has a multiplier effect that replicates growth to other industries in the national and community levels.

Lot 8 will have a new sister condominium.. its called "Azon"... a 13 storey residential condominium... :okay:
