Surat (Gujarati: સુરત, Hindi: सूरत) formerly known as Suryapur, is the commercial capital city of the Indian state of Gujarat and also Second largest commercial hub of western India after Mumbai. The city proper is the one of the most populous cities in the world. Surat is the administrative capital of Surat district and Surat Metropolitan Region. Surat is India's eighth largest metropolitan city. Surat is India's cleanest Mertropolitan Region.

The city is situated on the left bank of the Tapti River, 14 miles from its mouth. The Population of Surat with its twin city Navsari is above 6.2 million as of 2010. A moat divides the older parts of the city, with its narrow streets and handsome houses, and the newer suburbs. The city is largely recognized for its textile and diamond businesses. It is also known as the diamond capital of the world and the textile capital of India. 92% of the world's diamonds are cut and polished in Surat. Surat is also the Third cleanest city in India after Chandigarh and Mysore. Surat was once the largest city in India. It has one of the highest GDP growth rates in India at 11.5% as of 2008. Surat was the primary port of India during the Mughal period, a distinction it lost to Bombay during the British Raj.

Well Ginger is started few months ago but its announced in Media yesterday.
Also today news came in Sandesh newspaper that Gujarat will now have 7 bus stands of International standards for state buses with retail outlets, banking, ATM's, food-courts, etc of which 2 will be at Surat i.e at Adajan and at LH road.

Yesterday i was at adajan area and snapped some pics although i dont remember name of any residential buildings.

This area is basically LP savani road in Pal area and its development is great, just see the buildings, commercial complexes, wide & neat roads, etc are just so good still this area is counted for middle/upper middle-class while all the new buildings/commercial complex to me are somewhat better looking than even Vesu which is for upper middle/rich class people & its price of land too is somewhat similar or even higher than Vesu, maybe after the Cable stayed bridge which will connect this area, the perception of people changes.

Rajhans Multiplex - 3Screens with foodcourt, gamezome, restaurants, and Maruti Suzuki showroom at front. Although its exteriors isnt that great but this multiplex is quite good from inside be it its interiors or sound system or seating arrangement, but exteriors could have been a benchmark sort of as was with Rajhans theatre at Dumas which still looks best one. BTW this multiplex is 1st theatre in this area of Adajan-Rander.

Dhiraj Sons - Departmental store. Its the oldest store of City and even after of some big players like Reliance, more, Big bazaar, etc. its sales are increasing only, they have around 5-6 branches in city and are known for customer satisfaction. Also it gave an experience of what a proper departmental store is, to Surat when not even a single proper departmental store was in whole of Gujarat not even in A'bad.

Govt does not give permission to make buildings more than 12 floor....one 30 floor building has been planned and it take state govt 2 years to approved it...work will start on it very soon

hey sorry guys i could'nt take pics coz my mobile broke so now i'll have to buy a camera to take pics so pls be patient ..............but i went to vesu area and it was unbelievable
so many new buildings have come up including a college of architecture , interior design and fine arts..........many office buildings have also came up in the area and it is now totally changed ........but pls guys be patient pics and updates will soon come

hey guys atlast i bought a camera Fujifilm Finepix AX500 at a very reasonable price- 4700/-

It has a lot of new and improved features so i tested it tonight and took pics of cityscapes of gauravpath from my building terrace, and seriously i was'nt expecting good clicks , but the camera shocked me , take a look-

yeah, it's really shocking!!!and also at very reasonable price(nice deal:)).... I am thinking to purchase one like you have(around 5-6K Rs) :):))

I was going to write about the same thing previously. That SHAH guy sounds like some gangster/mafia boss having a monopoly over all the billboards!
