wow, weird but cool towers. They almost like made of ice, how will they look in real?

you expect this kind of architecture to be built in norway or denmark, but not in saudi arabia. lol somehow it doesnt fit at all... but maybe its only a very strange model.. seems to have some tour signal influence. HUGE!

The design isn't bad, I suppose, just very unusual.

I'm waiting for Rody69's renders . cuz I really don't like this design , but I do like the the fact that this is a supertall tower .

by the way,at the moment,they're studying "Jeddah municipality and City Center Development Company CCDC" which design is better for the trade zone in the project..this one or (The Golden Towers) which consist of 4 X 312 m + 1X +500 + 1X +600 (they're the ones used in the advertising video and in these renders:

Two tallest look like two halves of one tower.This design is really unusual and I like it.

The demand exceeds supply due to increase of population. The country needs to build at least 1.4 million unites by 2020. In fact, they are very late.

The Signal tower of Jean Nouvel has ressuscity, her new concept of tower have survived. Ahh… these petrodollars… make miracles.

Don't get too excited. This is nothing more than a vision ATM. Of the urban regeneration projects in Jeddah, only the one in Ruwais has substance. Even then, I suspect the 2 supertalls in that project may be scaled down as the project progresses.

How do you know I´ve never been to Saudi and that it fits? Kingdom tower fits, but this... uhm not that likely, but we´ll see, I will be glad if I´m mistaken

this project is in the re-assessment phase,since last October this project be came under (JDURC) responsibilities and the government is going to buy the cost of the infra-structure within the project, and for that this project is going to be more attracting for the developers ( the owners of this project use to be a JV between 5 companies and a bank).
any way,the information I have says work is expected to start on this project b Q3 2012 :)

Ground level? No chance i think.

The render in post #1 looks ugly and tacky :ohno: :bash: ie. the render with the colourful alcoves built into the facade of the buildings.

Some of the renders in post #9 look much better.
