ill give my gold silver and bronze

Gold
Harry Kewell - He had a pretty quiet last season but is still far and away our most talented.

Silver
Lucas Neill - Hes a great defender for the rovers and Australia although he did get sent off a few too many times last season. what a hard arse

Bronze
Mark Viduka - The man with the biggest head in english football takes 3rd spot although he played pretty shite last season

Watch out for Cahill who just signed for Palace i think. He'll be near the top very soon

Harry Kewel.

Don't think he had the best start with Liverpool, but I still rate him as our best ever footballer.

I'm a Liverpool man so hopefully he plays alot better next season.

In terms of best last year. Definetly Stan lazaridis. He was exceptional and one of the main reasons that Brummies challeneged for the UEFA cup. Second for mine is Mark Shwarzer. He is an exceptional keeper who would be in the premierships top 10. Kewell and dukes are always standouts but this season they havnt done much. Emo and Neill had a bad year. Big time.

Mark Viduka chokes in big games more than Port Adelaide in the AFL. He shouldn't ever be selected for the Australian side after his Uruguay match.

I'd also divide the poll between field players and goalkeeper - playing the goalkeeper is playing a different sport. I played both positions for 10 years, includng a season in the South Australian premier league. :)

Lets not forget the pioneer of Aussies who have made it in the Premiership>>> Craig Johnston.

A South African born Aussie, who grew up in Sydney, and played for my team Liverpool in the early 80s, an era in which Liverpool were the dominant team, was regualrly a pivitol player. C.Johnston even managed to kick a goal in a winning F.A. Cup Final for Liverpool.

Unfortunately, due to a FIFA rule which does not allow players to play for more than one country, Craig Johnston was ineleigible to play for Australia because he played in a friendly for England.

C. Johnston retired in the late 80s I think to return to Sydney so he could care for his sister who was diagnosed with cancer from memory.

Craig Johnston is now famous for inventing the Predator football boot. He must have made a fortune from them, they are the highest selling football boot in the world.

He also created a game show on Australian TV in the early 90's, it was called the Main Event, and was a very popular show at the time

And he wrote a no 3 song in the UK charts, Anfield Rap, whilst still a Liverpool player.

people who only watch football on the news will say Viduka (fat guy) and kewell (pommy accent) - they both suck ass. Emerton is better than both

im a blackburn supporter and i still dont think emerton is all that great...yet. sure hes quick but needs to learn how to keep the ball when hes got it. viduka is still pretty decent as long as he doesnt have to run anywhere :)

OMG check out that pic of Craig Johnston. Thanks Clarky.

I didnt realise he had aged so much. I remember his long curly hair, that was his trade-mark.

Harry Kewell

IMO the most talented of that list and possibly the best looking also.
