Hakon, thanks as usual for the many nice pictures.

However, this is not the Oba of Lagos' palace. Rather, this is the palace of Oniru of Irulaland (Oba Idowu Oniru). The Oniru royal family controlled most of what is today known as Lekki, before most of the land was ceded to the Lagos State govt (with the family retaining a prime swathe near the Palms Mall). The family owns the Oniru Estate and the British International School in Lekki.

The Oba of Lagos (Oba Rilwan Akiolu) resides in rather historic quarters on Lagos Island (near the CBD). Since 1630, the official residence of the Oba of Lagos has been Iga Idungaran, a castle originally constructed by the Portuguese (and finished in 1705).
