I hate this road, Look at the width despite so much traffic and prominence govt has done nothing for it
:bash::bash:
pinklungz September 22nd, 2011, 06:28 AM The developer said something like it may become 4 lane but could not confirm when and then said possibly by the time the complex is finished in 3 years time. I think he was being rather optimistic.

Exactly mangalore mania,so many educational institutions,IT company etc on this road, but less importance given to the road:bash::bash:
Always tier 2 city gets neglected despite having huge potential, this road must be developed into a four lane road, who knows this could be mangalore's feature IT corridor:cheers:

MCC should prepare the plan for expansion and then send proposal to the state government for approval if I am not wrong.

If Mudipu, deralakatte comes under Ullal town panchayat, then this road comes under jurisdiction of ullal town panchayat.
So town panchayat should look over this road:)

Krishnamoorthy K February 18th, 2012, 12:58 PM For Bearys Turning Point basement works are going on for main section and first floor works are going on for left wing.
KIADB has developed two fourlane roads branching from Thokkottu-Deralakatte-Mudipu road to IT-SEZ at Kurnad/Mudipu region. Entire stretch Mudipu-Kurnad-Pajir-Chelur-Sajipa-Melkar could be developed as an Educational & Technological Region. This neccesitates a fourlane Thokkottu-Deralakatte-Melkar-BC Road road.
I think a few institutes can contribute for Thokkottu-Deralakatte-Mudipu fourlane road

What is the white building in the picture?
That was one of the first building to come up in Deralakatta with Helipad on top, Was owned by Shergil Corporation a Watch components company, Later the company was sued by some company from Switzerland as he had stoled the technology from there while he was working there... This was the rumors around..
And the owner was the first to drive Porsche car in city..

There you are my dear friend:)
That is what the need of the hour for massive development of Mangalore and I wish soon there will be a news on this.
Finally I got someone who is supporting me:)
All the areas listed by you should be in MCC limits including Ullal and Kinnigoli, then Mangalore will be a huge city of almost 700 sq kms and there will be increase in population and it may reach a million mark at least.
This will lead to the Greater Mangalore a megacity on the westcoast:cheers:
niyaz dm April 10th, 2013, 04:26 PM the existing population of mangalore is 4 lakh something.it ll be 6 lakh by extending mcc lmt till talapadi.

For correct balanced growth Mangalore City Corporation should be:Mulki in north,Kinnigoli in north east,Another north east till and shall include Mudabidri TMC,On the way should also include Polali/Addur,In east till and shall include Bantwal TMC and Panemaangalore,In south east till Mudipu including Mudipu Melkar road,In south till Talapady.Kerala Govt should give special attention towerds Talapady-Uppala so that it can develop as suberb of Mangalore.
Udupi City Council should be extended till Padubidri. In future we can join these 2 blocks.
All these extensions/joinings are useless unless these region is industrialised.

hakindian1984 April 10th, 2013, 05:05 PM MCC cannot administer the area of 132 sq km properly then adding a huge areas it will be a mess like BBMP. According to me adding Ullal Talapady in south,Tll Konaje in SE, till Kaikamba in east,In north till Mulki and north east till Kinnigoli is fine. Adding Moodbidri Polali Addur and Bantwal will be huge task for MCC. It will be very tough for Administer

Current area of Mangalore corporation is between 170 and 200 sq km. It became 170 sq kms a few years ago. However it has not been updated on the MCC site. The original plan was to increase it to 306 sq kms.The link has been posted on the thread before.
