BVLGARI, one of the world’s leading luxury brands, has opened its first boutique at the satellite terminal of the KL International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang.

The new store was officially opened by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen recently.

It is the first store in the satellite terminal to sell a full range of products from jewellery to accessories.

The new store has separate counters featuring the different range of Bvlgari products.

“We are proud to be associated with a brand like Bvlgari which embodies premium quality designs for the discerning traveller.

“The opening of this exclusive boutique marks a significant addition to the presence of other luxury boutiques available at KLIA,’’ said Sharan Valiram, director of the Valiram Group.

Valiram added that they were proud to bring Bvlgari to KLIA as both the brands were internationally acclaimed and the luxury boutique is the company’s commitment to discerning travellers who are looking for high quality luxury brands.

The Valiram Group operates a number of retail outlets at both the Satellite Terminal and Domestic Airside of KLIA — namely Hermes, Montblanc, Coach, Dunhill, Hugo Boss, Tumi, Swiss Watch Gallery, Godiva and Flying Emporium.

Bvlgari first opened in Kuala Lumpur in 1990 and has two other stores located in KLCC and The Pavilion.

Trans Studio is the world's 3rd largest indoor theme park (as of 2009), located in Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The 20,000 m2 wide and 20 meters high indoor theme park. [2][3]. Trans Studio is built on the area of 12.7 hectares with investment up to IDR 1 trillion (approximately USD 104 million). The indoor theme park was inaugurated by the Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, exactly on September 9, 2009 (09-09-09)[3]. Trans Studio itself is a part of The Trans Studio World project, which will include Trans Walk and Rodeo Drive, Trans Studio, Trans hotels, and offices of Mega Bank[4]. Under the management of PT. Trans Kalla, the Mega Development Project will provide an integrated development, comprising not only an indoor theme park, but also shopping mall, supermarket, hotel, office area, recreational beach area, and residential area. The 22 rides and attractions for the theme park are designed by John Stevenson, the director of the animation movie Kung Fu Panda. The whole project is scheduled to be completed sometime in 2010[4].

Projects between 2010 and 2012

Even if some of the malls featured in this thread are sophisticated in design but its stores are the same old shit that you can find in other malls than forget it.

Its just like in HK and any other city, malls would be the same old tenants, same restaurants and fast food chains, movie theatres, etc.

That is why I rather shop in the city's streets and commercial buildings since they offer stuff that you can't find in your regular shopping mall.

I admit I'm a gamer and a toy collector and you can they in certain areas in HK say Mong Kok. They are cheaper and have more varieties compared to your typical shopping mall.

LAST year, Arthur's Day brought together some 15,000 party-goers to the thumping, trademark tunes of multi-platinum band, the Black Eyed Peas.

This year, music fans can look forward to an energised concert with back-to-back electrifying performances from their favourite local and international artistes at Sunway Lagoon.

Arthur's Day organisers Guinness had officially announced the line-up of acts for Arthur's Day 2010. One of them includes two-time Grammy Award-winning record producer, singer, actor, musician and rapper, Timbaland.

The musician who is known for his chart topping albums as well as his knack in creating hits for artistes like Missy Elliot, Destiny's Child, Ludacris and Jay-Z is set to rock Malaysia come Sept 24.

This much-anticipated event will also include Thai-American hip-hop band Thaitanium; independent rap-rock band Pop Shuvit; turntable guru DJ Fuzz as well as hip-hop and R&B artiste MizzNina.

Arthur's Day honours the remarkable legacy of Arthur Guinness, the pioneer and philanthropist, who signed the 9,000 year lease on the St. James' Gate Brewery in 1759 - thereby introducing the iconic beer, Guinness to the world.

"We are proud to once again host Arthur's Day in Kuala Lumpur and being a part of this worldwide celebration brings a deeper meaning in celebrating the great man - Arthur Guinness," said Guinness Anchor Marketing Sdn Bhd marketing director Mark Jenner.

"It's no wonder that this remarkable visionary is celebrated around the globe with a massive line-up of music events and festivities."

Vision City is a retail mall development a few blocks from Kuala Lumpur’s main shopping district. The project started off as an abandoned construction site where over one million square feet of bare concrete floor area is distributed over six storeys.

In addition to the brief’s requirements of interiors and fa?ade treatments, Sparch proposed strategic structural modifications to transform the original spaces within the building mass. The design, informed by climate engineering, creates a hybrid garden environment in the heart of the building volume conducive for round-the-clock activities. The mall becomes a seamless urban living room.

HUNZA Properties Bhd’s RM400mil Gurney Paragon shopping mall in Penang will be ready in 2012.

Group executive chairman Datuk Khor Teng Tong said they had engaged the London-based DTZ group to provide consultancy to Gurney Paragon.

DTZ was also the consultant for the KLCC shopping mall in Kuala Lumpur.

“We plan to lease out 400 retail lots in the mall which has approximately one million sq ft in built-up area and about 700,000sq ft of rentable area,” he said.

He said Gurney Paragon’s East and West Towers condominium project would be completed next year.

Khor said this after handing the keys to the buyers of its luxurious condominium project — Infinity — in Tanjung Bungah.

He said the group spent about RM900,000 for a crib-wall to reinforce and beautify Sungai Kelian that flows through the Infinity project.

“Effective micro-organism mud balls were thrown into the river to clean it up,” he said, adding that some 30,000 mud balls were thrown into the river, and about RM30,000 was spent on the exercise.

Khor said the group had sold about 80% or over RM200mil of the Infinity project, which had a gross sales value of about RM250mil.

“About 60% of the buyers are foreigners,” he said.

The Infinity condominium has 119 units with built-up areas ranging between 3,800sq ft to 11,000sq ft, priced between RM1.8mil to RM6.5mil.

“There are four three-plex penthouses, each with its private pool,” he added.

Most malls in Malaysia incorporate their parking into the building itself whether underground or above ground, some malls have both outdoor and indoor parking areas......

We incorperate the carpark space into all malls in Singapore too due to space issues.

The best malls is not the greatest, but the malls that has the image as a classy shopping malls with bringing the world of brands (high class) are rarely found in other malls.
as the Indonesian, we just feel happy and proud, that jakarta is not the only one in Indonesia that have hi class malls, at least we have eight other major cities where world-class brands such as LV, GUCCI, BANANA REPUBLIC, AIGNER, GIORGIO ARMANI, PRADA, ZARA, BALLY etc ... found in almost every mall, and even in a small town such as in Bali.
maybe one day we must say "goodbye" to shop in singapore, hongkong or tokyo...LOL

MAKASSAR - Crème de la crème fashion lovers in Makassar no longer need to shop all the way to Jakarta or overseas. Since international high fashion brands such as Prada, Tod's, Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Hugo Boss, Armani Jeans, Mango, Aigner, Canali, Celio, Francesco Biasia, and Coccinelle will open soon in Makassar. Precisely they will be located in the Trans Mahagaya and Metro Mall Department Store at the Studio Trans Mall.

The news was affirmed by Raj Kaul, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mahagaya during his trip to the Fajar press conference on Wednesday, August 4th. Raj came with President Director of PT Trans Kalla Makassar, Wibowo Sumantri Faith, Director of Trans Studio Eka's Word, and Catherina from Metro Department Store.

"We will present Italian high fashion style in Makassar. We want to provide the highest satisfaction in terms of fashion with the same quality and price as other world class shopping destination cities such as Jakarta, Singapore and Shanghai" says Raj.

The aforementioned luxury brands which will be launched during the soft opening of the Trans Mahagaya mall starting tomorrow Friday, August 6. The grand opening of the mall will be in January 2011. Also available at the super exclusive mall in Makassar are Brioni and Armani Jeans. Brioni for example, is an exclusive Italian boutique founded by Nazareno and Gaetano Saviani.

The Brioni brand, can also be found in the United States, Russia, India, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and China. "Brioni became our most exclusive brands that can not be compared to other brands. We will bring an international high fashion alternatives for the citizens of Makassar," said Raj.

Meanwhile, according to Raj Makassar will be the first city to carry the upscale Armani Jeans brand after Hong Kong and Singapore. "This proves that Mahagaya see Makassar as a potential luxury market," he said.

"Trans Kalla will complement the mall in Makassar. There will be a game lighting, swimming pool. It is expected that the presence of Trans mall will boost the economy in Makassar," according to Wibowo. Catherine from Metro Department Store, also added that the city of Makassar became the sixth city after Jakarta and Bandung.

"We believe Trans mall can provide quality products and varied, so that the mothers in Makassar don't have to go all the way to the Jakarta or Bandung to shop for quality luxury goods. Our products are varied, from fashion to homes. The main target consumers of the mall will be upper middle class family," he said.

S Sukriansyah Latief admitted he is pleased with the presence of Trans Studio mall which provides an alternative shopping mall for residents of Makassar. "Economic growth in Makassar will be better, and of course, it will also have a positive impact on the media," he said. (Nin)
