first of all let me say that i am not in kenya so i obviously cant vote but there is one thing that attaches me to everyother kenyan wherever they might be and that attachment is pure PRIDE AND JOY FOR OUR HOMELAND.

I dont know about you but watching K24TV streaming live from kenya(untill the stream went down) and i cant hide the smile ON my face. watching kenyans even the young ones taking responsibility and determining OUR OWN FUTURE. after what happened in january 2008 there is no reason for kenyans to turnout in such large numbers to vote but the resilliency of kenyans today is on display for all to see and admire sending out a clear message i.e kenyans will never give up on their country.

IT IS A BEAUTIFUL SITE WATCHING KENYANS PRACTICE THEIR DEMOCRATIC RIGHT

this is why our for fathers died fighting the british so that we as kenyans can regain our birthright to determine our future and how we govern ourselves.

THIS REFERENDUM REMINDS US ALL THAT ALTHOUGH WE ARGUE AND SOMETIMES FIGHT AGAINST EACH OTHER, WE ARE ALL KENYANS BOUND TOGETHER BY OUR COMMON HISTORY AND A COMMON DESTINY. MAY WE NEVER EVER EVER FORGET THAT

i dont know about you but today is one of those days that i cant help getting emotional out of pride and joy for my country.

keep it kenyanised.

yours trully NAIROBERRY!!!!!

this is a war we have fought for over 2 decades we have won the first battle(70% of kenyans approved the constitution) now the second battle begins i.e implementation. the status quo doesnt give up easily but in 2yrs kenyans will eventually triumph

congratulations to every Kenyan, i can not describe how i feel using words and specially in English, either way the current results stands 5.489million for Yes and 2.34 million for No, but i have to salute for IIEC for the marvelous and the professional job they have done, not forgeting the security apparatus, the media and above all the common wananchi

Hon Ruto and the no brigade have conceded defeat and Mr Issack Hassan will declare the final result anytime from now, but i will trying to go to KICC to listen President kibaki, prime minister and vice president to here their speech about the victory at 4.pm Kenyan time, guys allow me to celebrate cheers and god bless Kenya :banana:

I loved those crowds during the speeches at KICC city square. Reminded me of the crowds at Uhuru park back in 2002.

did u hear the way they were roaring in response to almost everything kibz and tinga said???

it was quite a sight. kenyans in joyvial celebrations because our dear kenya has been reborn.

one thing that has stuck out for me in this whole process is that kenyans never ever ever give up. so many reasons for them to give up and say to hell with kenya and retreat into their tribal shells but NO! they came out in numbers and voted together for the good of the nation. 67%!!! that is no small number.

sometimes i underestimate kenyans

One thing about Kenyans is they are a resilient bunch. When i see some guy pushing a heavy handcart in scorching afternoon sun trying to eke out a living and i think to myself,Kenyans are hard working people and when they make a resolution to get something, they go for it.No amount of lying, falsehoods and misdirection was going to derail Kenya's quest for a new constitution.
