I wouldn't mind whether it's a korean town or Camko town or any other appropriate name.

^^ Most of the buyers are Koreans so I would rather change the name Camko city to just Korean city instead! Plus we need a foreign town in our city in order to attract more tourist! Currently there are about 5,000 Koreans in Cambodia in just 3 years lolz!:lol:

Of course since there is ChinaTown, why not KoreanCity in Phnom Penh, let us be differentiated from the rest

^^ I don't think there's a Chinatown in Phnom Penh! PP is the only city in South east Asia that doesn't have one yet! That's the reason why I want a Korean town in Phnom Penh lolz! Yeahhhhhhhhh!!:lol:

^^ Not really....the financial crisis didn't scared them away! In Siem Reap there's a stretch of Korean town there if you haven't notice! Most of the business such as hotels, shops, restaurants etc are all owned by them!

I think hard to have a China town in p-penh:ohno:

The reason: Because everywhere in Cambodia not only in p-penh already got a lot Chinese.

Cambodian and Chinese can living with each other very easy and peaceful:banana:

Everywhere in Cambodia, specially near market ! we are easily to find them:) unlike some SEasian country like Malaysia...!

Cambodia got 2 big new year ( 1 is Khmer new year, 2 is Chinese new year ) in Chinese new year Cambodians no have public holiday but most of the government officials, students, workers always take off day:cheers::cheers::cheers:

^^But if we have a Korean town in Cambodia also very good :)

That's the reason why we should let this city be a K-town! More Koreans means more holidays for people in Cambodia ahahahahaha!!:lol::lol::lol:

Not so fast, guys. For a town to be called a Korean Town or China Town or Vietnamese Town, it not only has to be built by these people or has to have real Korean or Chinese or Vietnam people living there, but it has to have cultural and social representation of these people there too. It has to have a feel at home in those countries.

If you go to Camko and you feel like you are in Seoul, then yes, it is a Korean town. If not, then it is just a town in Cambodia near Phnom Penh named Camko.

Just aside. The reason that we don't have China or Vietnamese or Thai town in Cambodia even though there are more of them living there is because anywhere in Cambodia, particularly in Phnom Penh, you don't feel that you are in China, Vietnam, or Thailand. You just feel all the same - Cambodian!

Just for laugh - Svay Pak town could be a Vietnamese town because it is just like red light district as those in Saigon - too many too good stuffs going on at night and most of them are Vietnamese.

I think they should just keep the name "CamKo", no need to change things. Regardless, it will still feel like Phnom Penh and Cambodia.

Just for laugh-- Why don't we build a Korean Town, China Town, Vietnam Town, etc... and ship them to live there, so everyone is happy. On the other hand, Phnom Penh will be the only city in South East Asian thats have this. :jk:
