Its looking better
they should find way way to have order when it comes to parking.
the lanes are 4*4 but it seems that one lane is taken up due to parking.

Thanks Kaps. Great videos. But apparently the work is not as well advanced as I first thought. They are still in Limete. At this rate it will take years to complete the 13kms.

They still have to finish the drainage system first, then get rid of the old asphalt , then compacting, then New Asphalt, then Lighting , then sidewalks and pedistrian crossing bridges ,, jeez. its gona take for ever to finish 14.5 km.

There are also the Petit Boulevard they still have to be done with before they really do major works on the Big Boulevard.

Initially (last September), they said that the whole project will last 10 months, which was totally unrealistic, considering the task at hand. Little by little the deadline disappeared from their vocabulary. Why are these clowns not able to present a serious roadmap for the entire reconstruction program and prefer instead to wrap the whole thing in a veil of mystery? This ridiculous communication policy must be culturally grounded. They are afraid that the “ndoki/balozi” will cast a spell on the program if they are informed of the details :laugh::rofl:.

Yes indeed completion of work will be very long, specially that work was suspended that last few days.

All this contributes to tarnishing the country's image. When you make a promise, you keep a promise. That is the only way you earn respect and consideration from others. Ten months work do not equal eternity.

:ohno::ohno: I don't know what these people this government is. or what Century they live in.

Look at the 8 Km Boulevard du 30 juin. They haven't even finished the putting traffic lights , sidewalks and street signs.

Looking at how long it took to get 30 Juin Blvrd, now how long will it take a 14.5 km + the Petit Boulevard that will be 2 lanes each direction.

The Avenue de Liberation also is 13 kms.

Look at the small Avenue des Huileries.

Africans swallowed something that makes them lack maintainangce of what they built.

Anyways. Sidewalks aren't constructed yet. hence the sand.

City what? Kinshasa has no city council. I would prefer a Dog than Kinshasa the existing City garbage council.

I brought this point up a while ago.

So Americans call it sidewalk. Down here we call we call it footpath

whatever it is called Congo desperately needs footpaths and a city council that cleans up the roads. if this is achieved we can get rid of mud and sand on the roads.

What in the name is footpath? :hahaha:

Yeap, we nee Sidewalks along all roads.

According to Roger Busima (ADG of Great Works Agency) they will put sidewalks and Traffic lights as well as replant the trees to rep;ace the ones that where cut down.

So, No wonder nobody understood me the first time.

The asphalted or the concreted path in which people walk on, on the side of roads or streets is called a footpath :)

also great to hear that footpaths will be in place according to Roger Busima. This will cut down on the amount of mud and make the place look tidy.

^^After viewing this interview, I do not know whether I should laugh or cry. The provincial government’s strategy seems to be the confusion of issue. Any realization in the city in terms of infrastructure must be brought under the banner of “Cinq Chantiers”. The provincial government being part and parcel of this central government programme, every project realized within the framework of the latter must be regarded as its own. Therefore: World Bank, European Union, Cooperation Technique Belge, etc conceived, financed, managed and realized projects = central governement’s Cinq chantiers = provincial government realization. A telling fact: the dumping site where the interview took place is part of a project called PAUK (Programme d’assainissement urbain de Kinshasa), which is conceived, financed and managed by the EU. It should also be stressed that this project is covering only three communes (and not the most populous ones) out of twenty-four so far, which limits its impact on the improvement of salubrity in Kinshasa. Anyway, the provincial government is just a little parasite in the whole business; its own realizations are negligible, to put it mildly.

j,imagine moise katumbi comme gouverneur de la ville de kinshasa

This would make a big difference. Apart from subjective qualities such as generosity and probity, M. Katumbi has a business background. As a successful businessman, he thinks and acts in terms of managerial effectiveness and efficiency. He understands the culture of result-oriented creativity.
As for A. Kimbuta, he is a happy-go-lucky teacher turned politician, more accustomed to dance floors at Zaiko and Quartier Latin concerts than to managing a complex administration.

:lol: So true. We need more and more admnistrators with efficiency, progressive minded and country loving people like Moise Katumbi.

A much more recent drive through in Kinshasa.

The place has gotten much dirtier to my observation compared to June this year during celebrations

Gare Centrale has also not gained any height or no much sign of progress

Do these people enjoy living in such rubbish or do they not feel ashamed?

Like i said it. The filth will be back just 72 hours after the June 30th

What a disorganization . Its not just filth on the streets , but filthy buildings as well. makes me wanna puke. You have no idea how much i despise those ugly old buildings.

On top of that. Traffic chaos.

The people don't mind going through the filth. and the animal Kimbuta and his government think they are doing a great job :hilarious: . the people also think all the nightmares of the city are normal, they can't even stage a super strike to demand change in their provincial government.

Let me stop here. I have already said, i'm tired of talking about this city with it dead walking governor.

I wonder what makes it hard for the government to install traffic lights in even in the CBD locations. There's nothing like speed limits in the city to reduce the rate of accidents in the country... This government of ours really drives

They have

Funny thing is. After the Installation of Traffic lights the roulages or Traffic Police had no more jobs or they were rellocated to other places. These guys take the advantage of no traffic light to harass people on roads and get corruption money from intimidated drivers.

A couple of days after installing working traffic lights someone came in the middle of the night cut the wires and destroyed everything. Do not quote me but the word on the street is that it was the work of these traffic police who did not like the presence of traffic lights :ohno:

They would rather see the country behind just for their selfish interest of making $5 extra a day :bash:

I blame there actions on not having a strong leader and government.
Its in human nature to abuse the system and try to get a head. But
its the fear of the PUNISHMENT that makes the individual follow the law.

As far as I remember, there were no plans for traffic lights on Bld. du 30 Juin. Only crossings for pedestrians were installed but would have personally preferred to see streetlights. They should also have speed limit and others. I know this sounds crazy but this is what i remember. I also remember that were supposed to build overpass around SOCIMAT for pedestrians. Too sad we cant get those details anywhere else. This is Congo.

I am trying to keep an eye with the news from RTNC, Digital and RTGA on how things are evolving. As soon as I figure out how to record videos from a live streaming, I will post what's interesting.

Anyone is welcome to let me how how to record a live video streaming from a third party software.

There are several ways of doing it.

Once the website is accessed then one can determine the technique suitable for the job.
