Centum Uhuru Heights Project

In April 2010, Centum Investment Company Ltd through its subsidiary company, Uhuru Heights Ltd. appointed Acorn Management Limited as Project Managers to assist in developing an iconic, prestigious office and parking development that reflects Centum's success and excellence as one of the leading investment companies in East Africa.

The entire development consists of a 13 storied tower that will offer approximately 125,065 Sq. ft of lettable space.

The property is strategically located at the junction of Uhuru Highway and Utalii Street, West of Nairobi's vibrant Central Business District.

The proposed development is estimated to cost a total of Kshs 1.25 Billion

Centum Investments Headquarters, Nairobi, Kenya, Area: 45 000 m2, Design Competition Winner 2008

Originally posted by Nairoberry Seems the actual facillity has been scalled down(or altered altogether) to miniscule 13 storey, so the above proposal will presumably suffice for now. Will be checking for any updates..Its also possible that the assigned devp company(Uhuru Heights) is the one involved Dar's latest 25 storey mixed luxury development around the city's prime Surburb-location.

If they implement the winning bid(As above) the towers will look something like HAZINA TOWERS bar the twin Antennas and some flashy glass exposee'.^^

Good projects coming up, but I am looking foward for a mega structure to rival the Times Tower or the KICC. Is it likely to come soon?

All the talk is now centered around the Proposed-KCB unveiling, I doubt the Govt's Harambee Hse II in UpperHill can spruce a surprise(A +Nyayo Hse like structure).

Description
The site is located next to Runda Mimosa and across from the Rosslyn Estate on Limuru Road. The property therefore sits well within the diplomatic blue zone and is less than 10 minutes drive from the UN Complex and US Embassy at Gigiri;

http://www.centum.co.ke/images/stories/fgallery/closeburn_skyview.jpg

It is bordered by the Ruiruaka River to the South and a seasonal tributary to the Ruiraka river flows through the middle of the Property. The Runda site is bounded by the Limuru Road to the South, the Northern Bypass to the North and the proposed link road to Waiyaki Way to the West. It is strategically located between three major roads and is thus ideal for the development of a world class integrated mixed use destination;a

Runda Development Plans: The proposed destination will comprise a range of housing options, pedestrian friendly quality public spaces, environmentally sustainable, and a hierarchy of public to private space with nested but unobtrusive security.

Lovely project. I understand they have also planned something similar for Entebbe, Uganda which might be on a larger scale than Runda Closeburn.

Lovely project. I understand they have also planned something similar for Entebbe, Uganda which might be on a larger scale than Runda Closeburn.

Seems like a whole new mini-city to me on the Kenyan side. The Ugandan one is massive too and the peninsula locale is nothing but exquisite, it will definately give Entebbe an early edge as a resort town over other competing L.Victoria towns.

What I love most about this project is its open access plan. Far better than the "gated" model followed throughout most of Runda.

This tower is extremely beautiful but it seems to be another failed project. If they revive it hope it will be upperwards of 30flrs. A tower like this needs to be seen from any point in nairobi
