after several years I have again started making paper models, thanks to SSC.

The Poland Pavilion is an artistic building at the 2010 Shanghai Expo. This model worn one of the best design award.

Its interesting and difficuly level is at a medium scale to build. Estimate time is one hour. I added my own railings and for the glass railing i cut and glued plastic sheet. These pics are attached later. They are just test models.

More info abt the blg here :
http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=40885208&postcount=306

the official website is here:
http://www.expo2010.com.pl/

The pics and model: Found somewhere on the threads: The first cut out the lighter shade one is better. The cut out model is also illuminated with human figures. I wonder how was the building illuminated and how a clear cut out was made. Any responses?

out of the two cut models the lighter shade one (without the animal base) comes out little bigger and better looking. I also attached my own glass effect railings. Somehow I have had trouble to meet the base and edges clearly, and actually it might look like a toddler is building for some school project. Even scaling and printing in MS paint does not print clearly due to pixelization. Cannot figure out how to restore pixel size to clear one, when enlarging printing. Need guidance on building the human figures also.

here are the pics:

I think he has trouble with this

There are several issues evident with the model (professional looking official one) with the one that i built it.

1) edges dont meet clearly. Refining the scale model in software or something else can be done???

2) yes the pixelization issue as correctly identified by lestanac. I did not find anywhere on the net a bigger scale copy. Anybody finds pls post!

3) the inner cut out design....like when u see the pro model its a cut out design. I cant cut mine since the scale is too small, the design is even small in size.

4) The human figures, does someone have an idea or scale model of these human figures.

I wanna build it like this here. Found this image in download section of official site (http://www.expo2010.com.pl/)

1)the edges sometimes do not meet clearly and it is almost impossible to overcome because of the shape of the finished product

2)open the document in paint (dont adjust sizes or anything) and go to file> page setup and have it at 200% or any other percentage you need, it shouldn't pixelate or blur the image. If you mess with the size before printing it will though.

3) that model must have been done on transparencies, or the person used an Xacto knife and very carefully cut it out. I wouldnt recommend doing that because it would be very challenging and if you mess up then you would probably want to restart.

It depends on the scale you are wanting to make it. You could go to www.herpa.de which is a 1:500 scale die cast aircraft manufacturer and they have tiny people you can buy (1:500 scale) or www.geminijets.com and they might sell people too (1:400 scale, so they would be bigger)

Edit: go to herpa and search "people" and on the last page there are people in 1:500 or 1:200

I finished it. Why would you need help on it? It is pretty self explanatory. Mine turned out really well. I will post pictures later

thanks for your help. i am requiring this very much at this point.
Both sites are excellent, but only herpa has models, both dont have distributors for my country.

I do try in paint however the image becomes pixelated.

if the image is printed on transparencies then, the whole scale bldg should be transparent. uhmmm...the sites related to this building are all in polish lang.

Abt people i think i wil cut out the silhoutettes.

although the model is easy to make, however to create a professional looking model like the one is the 1st post, that is most challenging.

If you go to www.airplaneshop.com they could hook you up with some, I forgot that you can't order from herpa sorry:)
