press release:
MIAMI, FL---Swire Properties today announced the return to Miami of Christoper Gandolfo, following a two year assignment in Shanghai, China with parent company Swire Properties Limited. Upon rejoining the Miami team, Gandolfo has been promoted to Vice President of Development.

In China, Gandolfo served as Director overseeing the pre-development phase of Swire Properties’ Dazhongli project in the fashionable Nanjing District of Shanghai. One of four massive, mixed use projects that Swire has underway in mainland China, Dazhongli will be comprised of four million square feet of high end shopping, office tower and three hotels
upon completion.

A Florida native, Gandolfo has served in progressively responsible construction management roles during his twelve years at Swire Properties in Miami and Shanghai. Amongst his portfolio of successful Swire projects are the hotel Mandarin Oriental, Miami and the condominium towers Jade, Carbonell and ASIA. Prior to joining Swire Properties, Gandolfo was a manager at Turner Construction.

Swire Properties President Stephen Owens said “As a company that functions globally, Swire Properties has always deployed management talent where need is greatest – we are pleased to have Chris rejoin us in Miami as his return signals our intention to ramp up our development activity in South Florida.”

Looks like 5 shorter towers rather than 3 tall ones.

I am sure we will see this project completed. Swire has the experience, Brickell Key, and the deep pockets to pull off a mega project like this one. Now if only they would take over the Miami World Center parcels...., seems like the next boon is around the corner. :)

They also have the patience. It has taken them over 20 years to build out Brickell Key so they could easily have a multi year time table for building out this project as well.

Speaking of patience, everybody needs to have patience. This project was in the grave for awhile before it just recently got approved. I think as the economy starts getting back on track some more cancelled projects might be resurrected again. *Crosses fingers for Metrorail extensions and World Center* lol.

Those are some massive parcels right in the middle on the neighborhood. They can definitely fit 5 buildings -- perhaps even more if they wanted.

Yes, this needs to get going, something needs to get going PLEASE.

It's been a rough two years now, understandable given the prior irrational boom, but still. I also participate in Argentina's forums and there even medium sized towns are buzzing with construction, they are were the USA was in 2004-2005.

Hopefully, MIA and the rest of the USA will pick up before Argentina's real state crashes (as it invariably tends to do every 10-12 years)... otherwise I'll be very, VERY bored.
