Actually the city looks pretty good. The mayor is doing a great job on that issue.
But there are also many ugly Shikunim that i hope will be removed by Pinuy-Binuy some day.
I wouldn't want to live there. From what i saw there are too many arsim.

Giv'atayim is a city in Israel east of Tel Aviv. It is part of the metropolitan area known as Gush Dan. Givatayim was established in 1922 by pioneers of the Second Aliyah. It has a population of 49,600.
The name of the city comes from the "two hills" on which it was established: Borochov Hill and Kozlovsky Hill. Kozlovsky is the highest hill in the Gush Dan region at 85 meters above sea level. The city expanded in the 1930s so that today it is actually situated on 3 hills, Borochov, Kozlovsky and Rambam Hill.

i think all of Gush Dan must be united.
but first Ramat-Gan, Givatayim and Bnei-Brak; Bat-Yam, Holon and Azor; Herzliya, Ramat HaSharon and Glil-Yam; Petah-Tikva, Kiryat-Ono, Givat-Shemuel, Ganei-Tikva, Gat-Rimon and Savion; Yahud-Monoson and Or-Yehuda; Raanana, Kfar-Saba and Hod HaSharon. all must united, and later be united into one metropolis city called Tel-Aviv or Gush Dan.

also i believe that all Krayot must unit to one city that later will be joined Haifa (with Tirat-Carmel); and also other cities like Ramle and Lod, Rehovot and Ness-Ziona and others...

Maby we will unite all Israel from Metula in the north to Eilat in the south and call it Israel City?

I don't think there is a reason to unite Bat-Yam with Holon. It's a good idea to annex Azor to Holon.
Why mega big cities is good for the country?
Im against small cities like Givatayim, Azor that located next to big cities. In that case they should be united with their neighbors.
For example:
Hertzeliya and Ramat Hasharon
Kfar Saba and Ranana without Hod Hasharon.
Holon and Azor
Kiryat Ono, Ramat Efal, Tel Hashomer.

Tel Aviv is actually one of the worse examples- just look at the Southern part of the city. If you want to see good urban planning- check Modiin and Ashdod.

It will create pure chaos- the differences between the different cities are too big. The only thing which should be done is establishing a big cooperative which will manage big projects, like the light rail, new big roads, big CBDs and this kind of stuff, which affect all of those cities.

it may be chaos as dark_shadow said, but it will be better because budgets will be split properly. if you have today 20 mayors - it means 20 paychecks. if you have 20 municipalities - it means, i don't know, 1000 paychecks that can be benefit to town planning and maintenance, for example. maybe lower taxes....

BTW, Ramat Efaal and Tel HaShomer are both part of Ramat Gan

I think that all cities that are in tel aviv district should be annexed in one city called tel aviv. There is no sense leaving things like there are now. In fact, they are like one city.

Urban Legend
August 29th, 2010, 04:56 PM
They are not like one city. Some cities have their own lifestyle, their own architecture and stuff like that.
For example Hod Hasharon have more privet houses and urban village style. It's can't be part of Tel Aviv.
Many big cities in the world have their metropolitan. I don't understand what is wrong with that.
Some cities should be united, some not.

Modiin??? you mean Suberbia? nothing urban there.

Modiin is pretty far from those classic American suburbs:
http://www.flatrock.org.nz/topics/environment/assets/denver_suburbs.jpg

it may be chaos as dark_shadow said, but it will be better because budgets will be split properly. if you have today 20 mayors - it means 20 paychecks. if you have 20 municipalities - it means, i don't know, 1000 paychecks that can be benefit to town planning and maintenance, for example. maybe lower taxes....

Actually, I think that budgets will be split more unevenly: Right now, the budget of each city is decided directly by the government, if you will give the entire budget to a single municipality (which will obviously be Tel-Aviv, since it's the biggest municipality) we will probably see the widespread phenomenon of areas in cities which enjoy most of the budget but in a much greater scale.

with a bigger budget you can do the same municipal work that was earlier, with extra to spend in new areas or renovating old areas. or more maintenance in a specific time...

Tel-aviv, Givatyim, Ramat Gan and Bnei Barak look like one city.
when you go from Azrieli Center to the Diamond Exchange District, do you feel like you left Tel Aviv? its all look the same city.
Yad Eliahu and Givatyim can be just different neighborhoods and no one would notice.

Tzur Yitzhak is a communal settlement in central Israel. Located near Tzur Natan and Kokhav Ya'ir, it falls under the jurisdiction of Drom HaSharon Regional Council. In 2007 it had a population of 60 families.
The village was founded in June 2007 and consists of around 140 residential units in two different projects. There are plans for a total of around 2,350 dwellings in the settlement. from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tzur_Yitzhak)

It's a new town still under construcion. No schools, no nothing. Just boring residental buildings. First school should be build next year and culture center will be opened soon. It's amost done.

Bat Yam is a city in Israel, on the central coastal strip, just south of Tel Aviv, and part of the Gush Dan metropolitan area, in the Tel Aviv District.

Bat Yam was established in 1926 as Bayit VaGan (Hebrew: בית וגן, House and Garden), and was geared toward Orthodox Jews. During the 1929 Palestine riots, Bayit VaGan came under attacks by Arab gangs from neighbouring Jaffa and was evacuated by British Authorities, then was reestablished in 1930. In 1936 it was given the status of local council.

Bayit VaGan's name was changed in 1938 to Bat Yam. The 1948 Arab-Israeli War reached its borders, and Bat Yam was under heavy fire from Jaffa, until Jaffa surrendered on May 13, 1948.

In the first decades of Israel's independence Bat Yam grew due to mass immigration, becoming a local council in 1949 and a city in 1958. It experienced a rapid growth again in early 1990s, as many immigrants from former Soviet Union chose Bat Yam as their new residence because of its proximity to industrial centers of the country, combined with relatively low real estate prices. According to Israeli Central Bureau of Statistics, the city population as of June 2005 is some 130,000 people

Rehovot is a city in the Center District of Israel, about 20 km south of Tel Aviv. According to the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), at the end of 2009 the city had a total population of 112,700.
Rehovot was built on the site of Doron, a Jewish community that existed in the time of the Mishna. The site was also the location of Khirbet Duran, populated during the Roman, Byzantine and early Arab periods. The city is named after a biblical town of the same name (Rehoboth in the KJV Bible), which stood at a different location, in the Negev Desert.

Zohar dude Israel is like the size of my backyard...what u call cities in there would be called urbanizations here in Venezuela...or at least in the Gush Dan area, someone from another country would never tell Tel Aviv, Bnei Barak, Ramat Gan, Givatayim, Kiryat Ono or Bat Yam are different cities....
That's how I felt in Vancouver, I just couldn't tell the difference between Vancouver itself, Surrey, Burnaby, Coquitlam etc.

Some interesting facts about Ra'anana:

It's home to second largest Progressive Jewish community in Israel (the largest being in Jerusalem) and is one of only 5 cities in Israel to have a Reform synagogue in it.

It's unique attitude towards start-up business has lead to the creation of one of the strongest high-tech parks in Israel including several international companies choosing to build their headquarters there, among them HP and SAP.

The biggest immigrant community in the city is from South Africa. other immigrants known in the city are Americans, Australians, British, French and recently a large wave of Jewish immigrants from Argentina.

the local Ra'anana Park was the first of it's kind in the Sharon province, proving successful as it offers the community a variety of interactions such as a gym, a lake, open air amphitheater and a petting zoo. After the construction of the park in 1996 other cities in the Sharon joined in with the trend and built parks of their own.

The amphitheater in the park hosted several theatrical acts, along with the city famous Symphonette Orchestra. The amphitheater also hosted several international musicians such as Seal, Pet Shop Boys, The Stranglers and E.L.O.

But most importantly, Ra'anana is where I grew up!

PT has the weirdest sculptures and city decor in the world.
its like some crazy mental person is going around and adding stupid gnarly art and statues.
Including one street with some red K6 telephone booths, which are the least weird thing you can see there.

I know you want to see some examples:

WTF PT?! exhibit A:
