The weekend was an awesome experience.. went down to Melbourne for Battlegroundz at Essendon.
Coached it with the other Sydney groups arriving 6am Saturday morning.
Got picked up by 2 dudes and drove to the S.E suburbs to get showered... went past Toorak [spelling?] and the houses were AWESOME!!! And apparently really expensive too?
Sydney beat Melbourne 4-1 at the "Battlegroundz" RnB Hip Hop and Breaking dance comp in Essendon.
We didnt book a hotel cause we figured it would only be one night and apparently the clubs close at 7am.. leaving us 3 hrs to wait for the coach. The event finished at around midnight and we trained it to the city headed for the after party at Next Blue in Crown Casino.
Well turns out the line was packed and the club was full so we hung around the casino instead.
Was starting to get delirious cause hadent had proper sleep in 3 days. We tried to sleep on our friends hotel room floor at the 5 star Sheraton hotel.. but got kicked out of the room for having more then 4 in the room.. the bell man followed us up HAHAHA
So we ended up in front of the Yarra River on a park bench [this was at around 5am!!!] My friends [there was 4 of us] were shivering from the cold and complaining etc.... BUT IT WAS PURE BLISS FOR ME... all the buildings and what not!!! It was like a dream come true standing at the base of Eureka tower as well!
At 6am we walked across under Flinders St. Station and into Maccas for some breakfast... slept a bit there LOL.
Finally at 9am we caught the train back to Essendon for the Coach and arrived in Sydney at 11pm!!!
Some thoughts and Questions...
* Public transport... THUMBS UP! Easy to get around, cheaper and makes more sense with the ticketing.
* Saw a Melbourne Storm supporter at Essendon station who was returning from the Storm Eels clash.... UNFORTUNATLEY he gave me the news i didnt want to hear! HAHAHA
* Near Essendon there is a really hilly area with really HUGE houses... looks like Some of Sydneys new developed areas but looks better? Anyone know what area this is... was about 10mins from Sunshine area and close to Essendon.
*Eureka is looking mammoth!
*Went past what was the biggest shopping centre in Australia.. forgot the name though.
*The weather was miserable... but got to experience the 4 seasons in one day... which was pretty cool!
*Is Essendon a richer part of Melbourne? What would an equivalent Sydney suburb be?
*City Link looked spectacular at night but was ordinary during the day!
*I never want to be homeless in Melbourne again LOL.
