Continental Airlines carried the greatest number of passengers to and from Israel among foreign airlines in June, the Airports Authority said. Continental, which runs 14 weekly flights, carried 31,800 passengers in June, an increase of 102 percent compared to the parallel.

Lufthansa flew the second-largest number of passengers, 30,300, which is a nine-percent decrease compared to the parallel, followed by the Turkish airline FLM, which flew 21,343 passengers, a 26-percent increase, and British Airways, which flew 19,357 passengers, a 1.5-percent increase compared to last June.

More people flew from the United States to Israel than from any other country last month with the 104,144 passengers representing 16 percent of all air traffic to and from Ben-Gurion Airport.

Travel to and from Holland experienced the greatest growth, 216 percent, among all countries.

Israeli airlines recorded a 28-percent increase in passenger volume in June compared to the parallel.
