Ghana has a "paper" surplus off power generation but from what I understand there issues with the transmission network which causes power-cuts.

And really, the Chinese could find no people to work nights and late shifts? Seems a bit strange in such a poor country.

Hmmm, no wonder the Chinese think Africans are lazy. But I would like to hear the otherside, god knows what conditions they are working under.

Will better to hear the other side indeed. Because Chinese have a messed up reputation when it comes to working conditions within their own country.

In Zambian mines there were riots and even took some Chinese managers hostage.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe that in a country with a lack of formal jobs people would take that decision to quit easily. You get street hawkers standing on their feet 15 hours in a day trying to sell stuff but they cant take a factory shift?

Im guessing it was more profitable for them to be hawking on the streets so the pay must have been awful.

If that's the truth then I'm fairly unimpressed by the people's work ethics, but it would obviously be fair to hear the other side first.

But for good or bad, I doubt that the system was much different from that in a Chinese factory and the investors probably had the same expectations on the employees in Ghana as they have in China.
