I think the only reliable available data come from World Tourism Organization (www.wto.org) . There you can find in .pdf form various details about the visitors of all the countries , but i dont think that there are details about cities.
Perhaps you can find that data looking at the sites of local tourist authorities of every country.

http://www.world-tourism.org/ - try this one, also bare in mind not all countries report the tourist figures same way, some would classify anyone with foreign passport entering country as a tourist some only classify those that state there reason for visiting being a holiday and so on...

:)

another good way of getting and best accurate data is if you visit various national tourist organisations, I know that most have up-to-date info on tourist arrivals and tend to be quite accurate, example I used HTZ (Croatian tourist site, and they are very good, they publish information for each region, night stays and so on).
Also Czech Tourist Bureau (Czech Tourist Authority) is quite good to, they have info similarly dissected as HTZ.

can you point me to the info on 300k cruise boats visitors, I thought most of the bridges where down and no cruise ships go below Hungarian Border as a result, of course I could be wrong - but I would love to ce the data you got and source of information.

P.S. I thought he only meant foreign visitors, clearly he wants to know how many foreign visitors are visiting each city, cose domestic tourist are still tourist but there primary there to visit an event, relatives or business visit - say trade fair or business conference (also known as conference tourism).

Tourism in Croatia - figures.
in 2004 Croatia was visited by 7.91 million foreign tourist and 1.52 million domestic tourist, with revenue from tourism totalling just over 6.8bn SU$.

Zagreb Attracted 507 849 foreign visitors or just over 50% of pre-war level. Number of domestic visitors in 2004 was just over 74 000.

Dubrovnik had 796 000 foreign visitors,
Zadar - 843 000
Split - 643 000
Istria (Pula) 2.52 million
Varazdin - 78 000
Karlovac 156 000
Osijek 72 000
info can be reached by link below...
http://www.mmtpr.hr/

in 2005 Croatia is excepting 8.5 million foreign and 1.5 million domestic tourist and revenue of 8BnUS$.

edit sorry I forgot to put overnight stays, Croatia had just under 48 million foreign tourist overnight stays, Zagreb just under 1.5 million.

It is estimated that one fifth of Croatian Tourist arrivals are not reported due to the VAT fraud and it is believed Croatia had more than 10 million foreign tourist last year but many where unregistered.
Suffice to say Government tourism revenue (read this as foreign exchange - extra 2BnUS$ or 8.7Bn US$) have dramatically increased due to this fact, to battle this VAT fraud government had hired large number of tourist inspectors who have significant powers - which include closing any inns and properties offering rooms without proper registration of tourist even foreign friends (most often used as excuse).

Croatia planed revenue of 8Bn in 2005 are very pessimistic estimates, it is believed likely revenue will be in range of 11BnUS$.

Ryan Air and Easy Jet are in negotiations to start flights to Croatia, they are Hoping Croatia will allow them as it did German wings (low cost carrier from Germany). from next year Croatia will allow most of low cost airlines to land at Zagreb and Split airports due to the Open Sky polices signed with EU. It is estimated in 2006 Croatian Air Passengers numbers as a result might increase by as much as 25%. :)

last time I checked Serbia & Montenegro was one country ;)

I also found this for Prague
http://www.rosbaltnews.com/print/print?cn=49191
and this is the interesting part
According to Mr. Golubev, the number of tourists visiting St. Petersburg annually is 'absolutely insufficient', while 11 million tourists visit Prague every year, leaving alone Paris with its annual 60 million visitors. 'It is a shame', the head of the Tourism Committee further said, 'that while our artistic and historical collections are as valuable as those of Paris or Prague, we have by far fewer tourists'.

true, but I have them here quoted separately and as I did go alphabetically. Also I couldn't find data for union so it was easier for me to do this way.

about 11 million ppl visiting Prague true, well, was true - lol, but not all of them are tourist.

Czech Tourist Authority makes sure that there is distinction as to how many ppl actually visited Czech Republic and are there for tourist purposes.

in 2004, 17.2 million visitors entered Czech Republic, But old communist way of counting foreigners as tourist is no longer practiced.
PS. Prague has biggest International Airport in CE and this year it is excepted to handle 10 million passengers.
Expansion of the airport will increase the capacity to 18 million passengers. Prague is also largest business airport in CE as about 80% ppl using the airport are primarily business related.
