The Baekma Hill was the most bloody battlefield, where its winner got switched 24 times with 300,000 cannon balls from the Chinese Army in a 10-day offensive during the Korean War. The hill has been called Backma (white horse) since the Hill lost its original shape and looked like a lied-down horse due to severe artillery fire. To honor the soldiers of the 9th division of ROK Army, who lost their lives in the battle to defend the Hill to the last minute during the Korean War, the monument was erected at Dongsong-up in Chulwon-kun.

The Korean war was a crazy slaughter in term of casualties, we (in Europe) should learn more about it, but it's sadly often overlooked.

True. It always gets overshadowed by the WWII.

I agree. Korean war was a major military clash between the two ideologies and a very bloody, destructive one.
Here are some casualty estimates including both civilian and military casualties.
S Korea: 2.3 million
N Korea: 2.9 million
United Nations: .15 milion
China: 0.9 million
and of course it left the entire pennisula devastated.
