Back to supremacy? Wow.

This used to be the home of foreign athletic apparel prior to brands having their owned licensed stores.

ganda! but for sure, some hard-to-pleased forumers will criticize, vent their ire on the design of this project. very typical pilipino.

there goes the song: i can't get no satisfaction.

Certainly one of the 'So-So' developments in the Metro. Nothing special with the design and planning although the location is pretty good.

The supermarket/mall renovation design is equally ugly basing on its aesthetic design. they should have done a better job in integrating all the developments with rhythm/harmony and unity.

But don't you kinda agree that the mall looks a lot like the birds nest? That's the only thing that i'm saying. I'm not saying its ugly or beautiful.. its just an honest observation. :nocrook:

so what do you mean when you say that "the mall looks a lot like the birds nest"?

It means its been copied, but wth, any idea now adays is not original, its a compilation of all the Ideas by others rolled into one. Its like patents, you just add a little shape distortion and walah,, you got your own (of course its more harder than that).

copied from the bird nest on the tree top near the balcony of my house, he, he.

wth! at least, we have something to look forward to - copied or original. i'd be happy and contented, after all it's not my money they're spending on their project. i'm simply an 'audience'.

People as long as Herzog and De Meuron doesn't sue or whatever that design is perfectly fine. But I'm sure AsyaDesign will be working hard to get class A clients because class A clients hate copycats. Originality is vital in good design.

it's box-shaped so they can always argue that it doesnt look like a bird's nest. and considering that the shape of nests exist in nature, they can also argue for prior art if they get sued.

^^ Well, this is what the forum is all about. That's why everyone waits for the renders of a project. SSC is a good tool for some developers to gauge interest in their project. So all opinions, however technical or not, is important. :)

let me just say that developers/real estate agents may be reading the comments in this forum, but i doubt if they would listen, shrivel, or cave in to the criticism some people in this forum hurl at their projects.

we've read a lot of nega criticism in this forum about the appearance, design, technical aspects of this and that project, and that's it. i'm not saying that comments/opinions in this forum, negative they may seem to be, are not important. i think some of them are, and they sometimes are hillarious, they amuse me, seriously.

but again what some forumers do is vent their ire, pull down the project they don't like, or if only they have the power to do it, transfer the project they don't like to another planet. any constructive comments from them, at least once in a blue moon? nada!

and i doubt if these guys are buyers or investors, or are they?

sad.

OT: ^^ That is true. That is why we have an ignore tool for the trolls. So you can just select the people you don't want to read about.. :)

That was the first thing that came into my mind when I first saw the design days ago. Let's accept it. It looks like the Bird's Nest. Maybe those who think otherwise has yet to see a picture of the Beijing National Stadium.

Anyhow, I like this redevelopment of Cash & Carry. When I say I looks like the Bird's Nest, it doesn't mean I dislike this.

That's true. I can think of a few examples.

The Water Cube is really not that revolutionary if you look at the Eden Project in England. That bubble concept with the ETFE cladding had been done before. Granted, the Water Cube was and remains to be, the largest ETFE-clad building in the world, it is still not "original."

The Disney Concert Hall in LA is a doppleganger of the Bilbao Guggenheim - well, it was designed by the same person, but still, it was copied.

Strictly, the Burj Khalif design copies its "bundled" tube design from the Willis Tower (formerly Sears) in Chicago - again, the same firm designed the two towers (SOM).

So, strictly speaking, there's really no "original" design anymore. There will be improvements on previous designs but a truly "original" design is simply impossible.

Haha ang counter-argument dyan regarding extreme negative criticism of any structure is: If you don't look like what you see in this structure, eh di, gawa nalang kayo ng sarili ninyong gusali o istruktura.

In such a point of view, if you did not pay for it, then you have no say in the matter.

Hehe just a random thought :D

Relax lang kayo, normal lang magkaroon ng magkakamukhang building.

I assume that the condo above cash and carry will not be like that

Lulan ng sasakyan.. diyan kami natulog ni Mrs sa maluwag na parking area ng cash and carry nuong bagyong Ondoy. Di nga umabot sa parking area ang tubig baha kaya lang hanggang baywang ang tubig sa paligid.

the mall is like beijing bird's nest stadium and the three towers are normal concrete buildings
