(OOps, my bad. I forgot to write down the poll choices before posting this hotel. Silly me :dunno: )

Name: Sheraton Hotel New York*
Location: 811 7th Avenue between West 52nd and West 53rd Streets
Height and Floors: 501 feet/, 51 floors. Rooms: 1750
Style and Year of Completion:
Architect: Morric Lapidus and Associates. Developer: Sheraton Hotels

Summary: The Sheraton, a concrete-framed structure with a diagonal bend in the middle, is the ultimate work of Saul Lapidus. He had originally wanted to build the NY Hilton on Sixth Avenue this way, but the company rejected his offer, and he went over to Sheraton. The Sheraton is known for its yellow façadein the middle and the diagonal bend of its tower. Its main structural support is concrete, and it was the world’s biggest concrete-structured hotel at the time of completion.

Bland, except it looks to have a curve.

looks like a vegas building in nyc. it doesn't really go along with its surroundings. wonder why did they build it so far from times square? it's like on the very edge of the area.

It's okay, but it seems to be totally lost amidst the sea of 'scrapers.

The Sheraton, a concrete-framed structure with a diagonal bend in the middle, is the ultimate work of Saul Lapidus.

You meant Morris Lapidus.

looks like a vegas building in nyc. it doesn't really go along with its surroundings.

Well, Lapidus's primary work was hotels. His best known works are probably the Eden Roc and Fontainebleau in Miami Beach. His style is much more appropriate there or, as you said, in Vegas. I agree that this hotel just doesn't fit in.
