Here is a shot I took back in March on a weekend trip to Barcelona. I had seen many shots of this cathedral before and I always wondered what was so special about it other then it is yet another Gaudi building. I have to say that in person it is VERY impressive. I have seen many of the worlds great religious structures and this one is one of the best. Hope you like the photo and C&C is always welcome. cheers

Here is the rest of my Barcelona shots Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=31124&id=156253261064523) - Photobucket (http://s1022.photobucket.com/albums/af349/Nadia-Casey-Photography/Barcelona%20Spain/)

Thanks everybody. It isn't a cathedral, I have a habit of calling all large gothic churches cathedrals although that isn't correct. Thanks though. :cheers1:

Cathedral= church where is placed the chair (in Latin, cathedra) of the bishop.
From today, it is officially a Minor Basilica (=big and important church). Pope Benedict XVI has just consecrated it by a special ceremonial. If they want to make it a cathedral, they need to steal the bishop's chair from the nearby La Seu cathedral.
