Pretty impressive. Though I have a question to Kuwaitis (correct spelling?). What's up with this "War reparations from Iraq"?. Don't you guys see just how bad a state Iraq is in? The least you can do is forgive them for what has been done. After all wasn't it Saddam who was responsible?

yes i agree with the forgiving part, but the problem is there is still enemity between many iraqis and kuwaities, they have been enemys for the last 200 years, when arab states were formed.

Reparations are never a good idea. This is a lesson all nations should have learned from the Treaty of Versailles after WWI.

by the way, kuwait was a big supporter of iraq all through the ten year iraq-iran war.... so it wasn't too nice of iraq to turn around and say too bad... iraq also had a lot of debt fprgiveness from kuwait.

i'm not sure they owe iraq anything.

Kuwait will be in trouble if they run out of oil cause it's not really diversifying its economy, but that won't happen anytime soon, so they don't really need to stress out about it at this point in time.

actually, they say oil could peak by 2020, and it takes a lot longer than 15 years to build a tourist infrastructer or diversify an economy enough to pick up the where the oil income left off so i think its better to start as soon as possible.

The problem is Q8 hasn't really recovered from the Gulf War. It was growin at a great rate but after the war, things weren't the same at all unfortunately.

Yes there are, they exist. Salmiya is next to Kuwait City and there are other areas in the north and south which you never get to see. I'll try and get pics later at night today.

kuwait already has almost the best skyline in the middle east! lets compare it to other cities it has a better skyline than cairo,jeddah,riyadh,muscat,doha,manama and so on.

in 3 years it will be like a 150% full city with a very good and modern skyline.

Fe3len ! Beats the dull red brick buildings for me :)

kuwait already has almost the best skyline in the middle east! lets compare it to other cities it has a better skyline than cairo,jeddah,riyadh,muscat,doha,manama and so on.

in 3 years it will be like a 150% full city with a very good and modern skyline.
but maybe manama,doha,jeddah,etc. will beat it ;)

thought we should try and stay in our prestigious state ;).

Beirut has a great skyline guys search for a pic of ''ras beirut'' its great!



I agree Kuwait City Skyline is very underrated. But it is also one of the most recognizable in the gulf from the kuwait towers and the liberation towers.

The street with all the restaurants shown in the pictures is the Gulf Street. Kuwait is less 'free' than the UAE when it comes to alcohol as it is illegal in Kuwait; but when it comes to culture the Kuwaiti culture is more 'free' than the UAE culture :)

This al Sawaber Res. Complex and they're discussing demolishing it because no one likes them anymore. They looked quite 'groovy' when they where built in the 80's but not any more. Hopefully they will demolish them soon :)

Hey do you see the 10 floor building in the middle next the 5 floor orange one?

at the top lives a guy from al-awadi family i know he has many buildings and stuff almost everywhere in kuwait. Is that guy the owner of Dar Al-3awadi building? (al-3awadi family is a very big one there is sunni 3awadis from oman i think and the shi3a are from ba7rein) im not in kuwait now so i cant verify the guys office is on the top floor of the building i showed u ask his secretary if he owns dar al 3awadi or something.

And why should we go and ask him :D

none of you are surely pure kuwaiti... if you were you would know that the way we kuwaitis divide al-3awadi family in sunni or shi3a. The one i showed a picture of his building is well known to cheat in construction materials,etc. he never builds anything right one of his residential buildings (7 floor), he built if for 300 000 KD in salmiya, when the goverment made a random check up on his building they fined him with 2.5M KD, because he simply built the tower with no fire safety or proper water pipes and electricity, even that the building itself wasnt proper to (it couldnt carry more than 20 man on the 6th & 7th floor).

anyways the thing is i know that this guy is the only from the shi3a 3awadi who owns real-estate in kuwait, I'm just curious about dar-al-3awadi if he owns it then i would be terrified to go on the top floor :D :jk: . Still i have a doubt that he built it... because many in his family complain of him being cheap :D. If he built dar-al-3awadi that would be amazing (what is the sudden change?)
