Hi Guys,
anyone have any Ekka pictures? There is a story about the Ekka on the front page of the BBC website at the moment. Something to do with a cow udder controversy.

I miss the Ekka, so any pictures would be appreciated.

Same here hoffburger... Aussie Boy, this years Ekka has already been surrounded in a bit of controversy hehe... Someone got kicked out (and had to take his cows with him) because he was injecting their udders (with something or other) to make them look bigger then they really are. And then today some guy was caught with oval hoops instead of round hoops (that you throw balls through), and some netball sharpshooter could hardly get any in herself - so the ekka bosses said it was too hard and it had to be changed or closed down... no pics from me sorry.

I have always tried to make it to the Ekka, it was such a big thing when I was a kid, that for me it's a bit of a nostalgia trip now.

I still like to go on at least 1 or 2 rides, try and win a prize, get some surf lifesaver and RSL raffle tickets, buy a show bag, check out the babes in the wool exhibition (not the sheep, the models), look at the police and military displays, look around the cattle section, watch the fireworks and shout the colours, eat some junk food and nowadays visit some of the bars, particularly the stockmans and cattlemans bars.

I don't mind the Jubilee pub just next to the Valley exit of the Ekka as well. Always full of talent at Ekka time.

The city is full of country folk at the moment - they really stick out big time. Because of the situation with people not being able to use the lofts there are literally hundereds of caravans parked down the street from me in Bowen Hills. There are country folk walking past all the time, its quite a site!!!

Never seen so many cowboy's and cowgirls!!
