I remember just a year ago they started driling and working on the foundation, now it's just flying up so fastly. 5/6 more floors and it will reach the roof I think.

It's even further, the current highest point is floor 21 out of 22. The roof height will be reached with just 1 more floor. But the facade of the tower will go up about the height of 2 floors above the roof, that will hide some rooftop structures.

I have a lot of respect for Dai Biru as a developer. Not only do they have a lot of respect and understanding of the local Osaka market (which makes sense), they approach their projects more strategically and seem to have an actual vision of how these buildings should fit into the larger office market. They are similar to Mori Building in Tokyo in this regard, but are more careful than Mori Building in that almost all of their developments have a high level of pre-commitment before they even break ground. They avoid the purely speculative developments like "Grand Front Osaka" and don't over-reach.

I wish more developers approached the market the same way.

To me, Mori Trust builds nice but rather cookie-cutter properties.

Well, the tower is ultimately cookie-cutter utilitarian, but the preservation of the original 1925 building facade makes it a fabulous project. It reminds me of what Mitsubishi did to the Industry Club in Marunouchi.

Also, isn't the official name for this the Daibiru Honkan building?
