ahh unfortunately all melbourne people, 99% of the world poplulation think sydney is the capital of australia! so buy all the events but still nobody gives a shit.
LOL - amazed to see that a Melburnian actually knows about exotic tropical fruit like Durian even exists - thought southerners were limited to apples, oranges, peaches and other white anglo fruit, LOL.
POG - you should remember to never be critical of anything Melbournian because you will get a tirade of abuse back even though you can be very critical of anything in Queensland and NSW too - we don't get upset.
I know a lot of you melburnians are really really excited, but the more I see pictures of eureka the more I think that it has one of THE most ugliest designs for a skyscraper being built in Australia. The blue glass however is nice when you see it close up, i'll give it that. The white horizontal strip patterns look discusting from a distance. The shape is dodgy and is what gets me the most (its just darn ugly). It really is sad that melbourne will not have a more elegant and iconic structure as its tallest building. Eureka tower is a shame and will be an urban blight. Just thought i'd come in and share my honest opinion.
the Melb one really does emphasize how gloomy the city looks,you need more colour,cut back on the black guys
They're not putting THAT up, are they?? Very, very tacky.
Melbourne: Lot's of stuff going on now but not really contributing to a "better skyline". Will have the highest increase to CBD size (area) of the lot. Oversupply worries a threat to future prospects. Handicapped by inability to develop towers along Swanston Street, hence the "gap" in the skyline
Melbourne suburbia is very flat, spread out and boring.
As you would know Sydney has many mini cities scattered throughout the area meaning its not neccessary to go to the CBD for a great night out and you don't feel like you are living in an overgrown country town instead of a bustling city.
its part of Siberia and talk of the terrible life, the grey weather, the bleak landscape and the ultra-conservative nature
LOL - its funny all these Melbournians getting upset over being compared to Brisbane. I remember the days when Sydney and melbourne were rivals, how things change.
