To Jinmao's East is a golf course. To Jinmao's West are other skyscrapers. To the south is the "Meishi Cheng" or "Food City", a large square with restaurants serving food from all over the world. I like how Shanghai's business distirct isn't crowded and cramped like most older cities. RafflesCity August 20th, 2004, 04:01 PM Is there anything to do around Jin Mao's base at night? From pics, it seems that one has to cross the river to get from Jin Mao to the Bund (the cultural heart of Shanghai)? Right next to Jinmao is 美食成 Meishicheng, a large square with restaurants from all over the world. There is also The Grand Brand Mall. You can go up to Jinmao's top floor and have coffee, tea, ice cream... etc. at the cafe and enjoy the night view. You can also go to the top of Oriental Pearl tower of course. I believe there might be a club or two around that area as well. But if you were to cross the river, it isn't too difficult of a task. Archangel-X August 21st, 2004, 09:10 AM I stayed a night on the 77th floor of the Jinmao building. It's when your up there that actually there isn't as much to Shanghai as most people believe. RafflesCity August 21st, 2004, 03:06 PM I heard the Pudong area is quieter but cross the river to the Bund is where all the activity is. Anyway if I go to Shanghai I definitely must stay at the Jin Mao! |
