Those are different sectors in Islamabad ... like E7 or F67 etc. this is a completely different development. This is along the lines of the other DHA developments in pakistan where they have their own sectors within defence .. In Lahore Defence theres a Y sector which has the best shopping area in Defence !! :righton:

Im tired of white people being in renderings. and what the hell are palm trees doing in north pakistan? atleast try and and keep the landscaping natural. not only are they cutting down our forests but ontop of that their bringing in vegetation that does not suit islamabads natural environment.

Google have updated Islamabad and part of northern area and Kashmir for earthquake, you can download overlay from Google website, but I must warn you because its overlay and theirs lots of separate images it will slow your system down and you need high speed connection, it should be updated on the server on next update.

I was also trying to see goggle earth latest updated images for earthquake but I didn't see them on google earth .I still see old data images.Looks like you have used a latest layer.Kindly guide me how you were able to get latest images via that layer( I mean exactly what layer you used and from where?).I have ultra fast computer and high speed net and should be able to capture much larger images from many angles to share them here.In know what areas are what.

JACARANDA Family Club, Community Centre and sports Complex spread over 22 acres approximately. Foundation stone laying ceremony for the club was held on 19 Aug, 04. It is a turn key project which has been awarded to MAXCORPS Properties (Pvt) Ltd . The main objective of the Project is to develop an international standard, world class clubhouse, equipped with the most modern facilities. Its membership will be launched shortly. Its near to completion and hopefully will be operated by the end of this year. MORTGAGE FINANCE HOUSING PROJECT
Mortgage Finance Housing Project is a Joint Venture with MAXCORPS Properties (Pvt) Ltd , a Malaysian Company in collaboration with local banks, has been launched for the members of DHAI. The promotion and construction of houses of owner's choice from the show houses and financing from financing institutions, banks to finance the construction of each houses. Six different types of show houses (at 1 kanal / 10 Marla plots) are available. Three petrol pumps, one each of PSO, SHELL and TOTAL are under construction each including a spare parts shop, service station, mini mart, compress natural gas facility, workshop and a restaurant. This project is under taken by Perfect Endeavors, and the pumps will be well dispersed over the commercial strip astride the Sheikh Zaid Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan road.

TELEPHONE EXCHANGE
A digital telephone exchange has been established in Phase I and telephone connections are being provided to the residents of Phase I. Work is in progress in Phase II and services will be provided very soon. This exchange is subsequently expanded from 400 to 3000 lines.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR IRRIGATION
Waste water treatment and recycling for irrigation purposes based on drip and sprinklers technology will be used.

OTHER FEATURES STREETS AND ROADS
Habib Rafiq (pvt) Ltd has been commited for all the development work in PhaseII including roads, parks etc.40 feet wide streets and 130 feet wide Boulevards with green belt and foot paths of tough pavers of varied pattern and different designs for each sector. 130 feet Boulevards are provided with service roads on both sides and storm water drains while other streets are designed in a manner that rain water would flow over roads/streets before accumulating in rain drain nullah which is made of RCC and discharges into Soan River.

Width of svc roads has been increased from 13 feet to 16.5 feet. PRE-FABRICATED BOUNDARY WALL
Pre fabricated boundary wall with entry gates aesthetically designed to enhance security and privacy of residents.

OVERHEAD WATER TANK AND TUBE WELLS
In phase-II overhead water tanks, tube well rooms are added. For convenience of locals bus stops be included. Their designs may increase the entire development of the area.

GAS PIPE LINES
Laying of sui gas pipe lines has already commenced and will be available to the members by the time of completion of these houses.

EDUCATIONAL FACILITIES Four higher school/college level education institutions are planned, while one each out of these would cater for University level and special education.

JAMIA MOSQUE (Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque)
Jamia Mosque of Phase II is a replica of Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque, Malaysia which is planned to be built on fifty five Kanals of area with a capacity of 8300 persons including 700 ladies at a time. In addition to eight sector mosques having capacity of 300 persons each, this mosque has been designed by Meinhardt, suitable adapted to respond to our regional context. The earth-breaking ceremony of Jamia mosque took place on 17th Mar, 06 by vice president of DHAI and construction work has been started by contractor M/S HRL.

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF SPECIAL EDUCATION (RISE)
RISE DHA Islamabad will be an institution of a unique nature that will provide research facilities in addition to eduction, vocational training and boarding facilities for 400 – 500 special children of different age groups so that they become useful members of the society. The main emphasis will be on the physically and mentally handicapped in this Research Institute. It is being established at 35.5 Kanals (5 Acres) of prime land, fully developed and allocated by DHA Islamabad Phase-II.

RISE Core Objectives are:

• To provide environment on the research and remedial measures to reduce the possibilities of different types of disabilities in the children of our society.
• To offer counseling and support services that enable parents to play a key role in the development of their children.
• To develop a platform for the capacity building of professionals, volunteers, parents and various society organizations working with special children.
• To provide early intervention services for children who are “at risk” or who have been identified as having special needs.
The academy is being planned for special children. Details are:-

Islamabad Defence is a huge project and will probably take many years till completion there is phase 1,phase 1 extention,phase 2,phase 2 extention,phase 3,overseas sector,emaar etc.
development in phase 1 is almost complete (80% houses built).
permission to build in phase 2 was given over a year ago and in that time nearly 200 house have been built and a further 400 hundred applications have been received from people who would like to start construction.
Going by the current rate at which houses are being constructed i'd say within 3 years phase two will be near completion.about the same time when the world trade centre(platinum square),jumeirah hotel and goldcrest towers will be completed.

Going onto your next question.there's never been a project on this scale before anyware in Pakistan.Karachi defence was good,Lahore defence was better but remember this is the capital(ISLAMABAD).

PHASE-II FUTURE PROJECTS DHAI-AMARIS INTERNATIONAL MEDICAL COMPLEX
Western Capital Development L.L.C will construct a hospital namely "DHAI-AMARIS International Medical Complex" on an area of 50 Kanals to be located in DHAI phase-II introducing Health Insurance Scheme to the Residents of DHAI / others for Seeking out door Medical Care/Treatment of affordable cost basis from the designated hospital complex. Trainings for the paramedics/nurses has been planned.

This project is envisaged to provide a medical complex consisting of a 27 floor building with a 303,000 sqft covered area. This complex will provide international standard services like helicopter Ambulance, ICU, NICU, CCU, PCU, emergency care and burn center equipped with state of the art computerized systems. The residence of all the staff (from consultants to nurses) will be provided in the hospital with two 15 storey buildings of 500 flats. This complex would be a general hospital catering both to indoor as well as out door patients.

A medical and dental college is also envisaged in the near vicinity of the complex which will cater to the medical educational needs of prospective students in Islamabad and in surrounding areas. Each department in this medical complex will have one clinic. All in all complex will consist of 29 departments, with 28 clinics and one intensive care unit.

This will be a joint venture with MAS Associates (pvt) Ltd and International Hospital Group (IHG) of UK on a land of approximately 3 acres. It will be an international standard hospital with state of the art specialist services. Sector Utility Areas have again been designed by MAXCORPS Properties (Pvt) Ltd and construction work shall start soon. These utility areas in all the Sectors will greatly facilitate the residents by meeting their daily utility requirements within walking distance. We are also installing a modern Waste Water Treatment Plant with the help of a firm from Thailand or UAE.

Major development project in Pakistan taps HMI expertise in health care and education
HMI has entered into a long-term relationship with the Defence Housing Authority Islamabad (DHAI), an organization that is planning to develop a 60-acre health and education complex as part of a large-scale residential development in Pakistan. Current plans for Health and Education City Islamabad include a 500-bed teaching hospital and colleges of medicine, nursing, and dentistry.

In April, the leadership team from Pakistan came to Boston to begin formulating a project strategy and to visit model facilities in the Harvard Medical School affiliate community.

HMI will advise DHAI on the establishment of a tertiary care teaching hospital and associated schools for health care professionals to address the health and medical education needs of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and beyond. Although in recent years Pakistan has made considerable improvements to its health care infrastructure, the country's supply of high-quality facilities and highly-trained health care professionals is unevenly distributed, and inadequate to serve a nation experiencing such rapid population growth. Large numbers of Pakistan-trained physicians continue to leave to practice in other countries.

DHAI Phase II – Extension has been launched on 25 March 2005 . DHAI Phase II – Extension is spread over an area of 40,000 kanals (estimated).

Emaar will develop the land of 8000 kanals in Phase II extn including villas, hotels/resorts, commercial area, bridges and recreational park. Other phases includes Phase - I extn, Phase - III.

He has learnt to live with reality, good thing is they also have competition and it will better the service. BTW I appreciated the Eden homes scheme, can anybody have a light on the rating of this group. They are offering good option homes in Lahore. It will be fine if they offer some kind of scheme in Islamabad/Rawalpindi too.
