A real treasure awaits you a few kilometers outside the city. In 1729 Vittorio Amedeo II commissioned what he wanted to be the architectural embodiment of originality and audacity, and he entrusted the project to Filippo Juvarra. The construction is in the form of the cross of Sant’Andrea, and it centers around a great elliptical room. In the middle of the room stands Francesco Ladatte’s “Cervo” (deer) statue. Make sure to see the many beautiful frescos by Andrea Vittorio Amedo Cignaroli, Gian Battista Crosato, and Carlo Andrea Van Loo as well as the great garden. The trip alone to the Palazzina takes you along a gorgeous avenue lined with old stables and country houses. The Palazzina also houses the Museo di arte e ammobiliamento (The Museum of Art and Interiors).
