Hi guys, im in my final year in college and im doing my dissertation on urban sprawl in Dublin,
I came across a pic a few months ago of dublin, taken from a plane in the morning showing miles and miles of traffic coming in from the counrty..anyone know where i could find it?

This is really big problem, I'd say Dublin has one of the biggest problems of urban sprawl in Europe :ohno:

fair play to you thats the one! where did u find it? yup, its actually official it has the worst urban sprawl in europe, this is a perfect example of peri urbanism, dublin is really going to be like Los Angelos if something isnt done.

Dublin City Council really should follow the Singapore model which is:
1. Improving public transport (MRT, LRT, in this case extension of DART westwards, LUAS seems to be ok, but they should need to start with a metro north and metro west, however we probably won't see until we'll be out of this recession.
2. Car ownership: extra large taxes for cars with big engines, what they do in the city where I'm originally from, is they allow small cars to be parked for free in public car parks, which encourages citizens not to buy big pointless engined cars. Also, this might sound strict, but one car family policy should be introduced, if metro north and DART underground will be finished
