Visited Rabat, Morocco, in 1964. The opening scene is where we were looking for some wicker furniture at a out door shop on the outskirts of the city. Later we went to the old Royal Palace. Then we had lunch at a restaurant, in the palace ,overlooking the bay.

On March 28, 1965, took a Red Cross tour to the Roman ruins at Volubilis, Morocco, in North Africa. Most of the visitors in film are USN personnel assigned to the two naval bases on the Moroccan coast. These bases were closed in the 1970s.

Kenitra, Morocco, downtown scenes about 1964. We lived in an apartment in Kenitra in 1964 and 1965, while I was in the USN. Great place to live and great duty station. The little blond boy in several scenes is our son; he is now a grandfather. Time really flies!!!!

The video starts in front of the local government building. Then we were at a nearby park. As we wander around, you see a man running in front of the local market. You could buy all kinds of fruits, veggies, nuts, meats, etc. there. After returning to our apartment, you see a ship leaving the local docks (taken out our rear window). Then we wander around the city.

We hope you enjoy a time almost half a century ago!
