Mr MacPhisto August 20th, 2004, 03:04 PM ^I think your confusing the original Services Club Tower with the newer one over the road built a few years back?

MrTall August 20th, 2004, 05:25 PM ^Uuugh!! Didn't know that Coolangatta had so many walk-ups. Yuck. Are Essence and Reflections located within the main cluster there?
Danubis August 22nd, 2004, 04:51 AM what do you mean by walk-ups? as in external stairs or someting? me no understands....
finn August 22nd, 2004, 05:06 AM ^^Walk-ups are apartment buildings with no elevators, usually a maximum height around 3-4 storeys. The stairs aren't necessarily external, although they may be in some cases.
Just think of the plethora of 3-4 storey apartment blocks that surround just about every railway station on the Sydney metro network - they are the quintessential example of a walk-up. Examples:

in that second photo you can see the services club, and then across the road where theres a big empty white space on top of the car park is where the first tower was built 2ish years ago.
Im not positive but i believe the new tower is being built just to the right of the services club(2nd photo) on the harbour area..hence the name i guess.
The services club is not where the NRL team played, they played at the Seagulls services club about 1-2km inland, the stadium and field is now demolished and has beign developed where they once played.
The Coolongatta area is really starting to pick up at the moment, theres boutique apartment blocks popping up everywhere and is really improving the look of the area.
Danubis September 17th, 2004, 05:55 PM i cant beleive they dont have lifts!! i live in a 5 level apartment building and theres a lift here!! how do people survive?!
finn September 18th, 2004, 12:51 AM ^^5 level buildings do require lifts, but these things are only 3-4 storeys, so it's not so bad. In fact, in many local council areas planning regulations require lifts in 4+ storey buildings - but not a big deal really - at least it keeps 'em fit! ;)

All the actual towers have lifts.
CULWULLA December 3rd, 2004, 02:28 PM heres a pic of the first tower-known as Quality twin Towns resort. The new tower is to the west of first tower. This is the reason for the shadow concerns on the park adjacent. we actually tested the towers for a council project. both towers rise 58m.
