Kung magsulod ka sa Main Entrance ka Panaad from Regent Pearl, rektahun mo ang dalan while looking sa right, may makita ka na da nga dalan nga daw pasulod sa right. Subdivision na da tani for Capitol employees pero wala nila madayun.

I guess they can reformat it as a Sports City complete with athlete's dorn and other Sports Facilities. I think that's their new plan para sa ina nga area. Also area nga ginataguan sang una ka kabayo sa may oval lapit kag ang former sportsbike activity area nga may bungyod bungyod sa tupad mismo sina kag ang space sa gwa nga ginatambayan ka baka, karnero, kabayo kag kanding.

I think ang scope of area sang Negros First IT Park is only Lacson and Hernaez Streets pa lang, undetermined pa ang iban. Agree ko na dapat commercial center na lang guid ang Paglaum kay para this can give us money for a much more beautiful Panaad premises. :)

No need for a Paglaum rehabilitation as a sports complex. A mini Techpark would fit to a tee. Not as huge as Cebu's Asiatown IT Park but nevertheless would create employment opportunities and other businesses for every Negrense. :)

http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/6365/paglaum2.jpg

Mga migo, that vacant lot in beside Paglaum across Lupit Church isn't yet acquired by the Prov'l Govt.

And to let you all know...the Prov'l Govt has no plans of converting the Paglaum Sports Complex into a commercial area. only that area along Hernaez and Lacson Streets will be developed and be a part of the Negros First Cyber Center. The Paglaum Sports Stadium and the Football Field will be retained and refurbished since it is of historic value to the city and province.

Paglaum will serve its purpose as football stadium and venue for local and regional athletic meets while Panaad will also be facelifted and will host the major events including international games.

Basta guys hulat lang kay natapos na ina ang plano for Paglaum and Negros First Cyber Center by the Prov'l Govt.....ang pangamuyu-an nyo na lang nga madayun ang mga naga interes dira nga mag lease ^^

^^although ang paglaum is being used as an alternative to panaad, the big picture here is how it can be use that's profitable to the province, job creation is most important and maintaining the football field doesn't create jobs only headaches. so guv make a study on this possibility its a win2x investment the province has its negros cyber center and private developers can lease long term the footballfield that would add revenue to the province.

BY GILBERT BAYORAN

BRGY. MINOYAN, Murcia – The Energy Development Corp. expects to contribute 20 more megawatts to Negros, to help address the power shortage in the island projected by the Department of Energy.

This is after its Nasulo geothermal project in Palimpinon, Negros Oriental, goes operational in 2014.

Dwight Maxino, EDC vice-president for the Northern Negros Geothermal Production Field, yesterday confirmed the transfer of its 40-megawatt equipment from the NNGP power plant in Bago City, to its new geothermal power plant in Negros Oriental.

Region 6 GDP up, but so is poverty (http://www.panaynewsphilippines.com/mainnews%201.htm)
BY JEZZA NEPOMOCENO

ILOILO City – The poverty incidence in Region 6 remains high despite a surge in its Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), according to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

With a GRDP of 5.9 last year, Western Visayas is considered the third fastest-growing region in Philippines today. It is also considered the biggest economy outside Luzon.

The province with the most number of poor households is Negros Occidental (144,828 families), followed by Iloilo (90,009), Aklan (38,515), Capiz (37,312), Antique (30,205) and Guimaras (4,834).

To bridge the gap, the national government has allotted P2 billion for its poverty reduction programs in the region such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program under the Department of Social Welfare Development.

^^thanks for the clarification mga migs. pwede man dyapon ma developed ang football field if they decide to, a hypermart or a rob will be perfect, pwed man mag lusot2x just like sa sm savemore east kag libertad nga ang entrance lusot2x sa main street.

I just wonder why won't the City Government of Bacólod invest in Sports Facilities complementary to the Provincial Government? At least a facility somewhere in Brgy. Estefania to cater at least to local events. By then, we can close Paglaum for good. :)

Western Visayas tourism circuit plan up

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

STAND-ALONE tourist destinations in Western Visayas will be connected by an established travel itinerary to enhance complementation among the six provinces in an effort to increase tourist arrivals and revenues.

In Negros Occidental, priority destinations will include the Mt. Kanlaon
National Park, Mambukal Hot Springs in Murcia, the diving and sightseeing spots in both southern and northern sides as well as the highlands of Don Salvador Benedicto, which is dubbed as the Summer Capital of the province.

Records from the Department of Tourism 6 showed that Boracay topped visitor arrivals totaling 674,447 and tourist receipts amounting to P12.40 billion in 2009 followed by Negros Occidental at 463,154 visitors (P8.51B); Iloilo City – 363,277 (P6.68 billion); and Bacolod City – 358,159 (P6.58 billion). The remaining LGUs posted an accumulated share of less than 10 percent of the total arrivals.

Corporate Gods' Offered Wilson, Sr. P200M Bribe

He claimed that the so-called PLDT "corporate gods" offered bribe money of P200 million through a Negrense intermediary but the "good fortune" on the other hand, "...smiled in our favor. Last June 28, the Supreme Court, after four years of deliberations and a vote of 10-3, has decided to sustain our position that common shareholdings, not a combination of common and preferred shareholdings as what the PLDT had been insisting, is the basis of the computation to determine the foreign equity in a public utility firm."

"Ironically, the offers came at a time when doctors gave the diagnosis that his liver ailment was turning for the worse. In hindsight, Wilson could have just taken the money and used it to buy his health back," Lustre’s eulogy read.

The Negrense intermediary was fumigating at Wilson, asking if he was crazy to reject a 300 percent increase of bribe money from P50 million to P200 million.

If you look at the article, it does look alarming. But you must look at the population size to keep things in perspective. Negros Occidental has a population that is almost a thirty percent higher than the next biggest province in terms of population.

:okay:not-so-good-news I know but we all should bear in mind nga wala man gapabaya ang aton provincial gov't with our hardworking Guv 's leadership!:okay:

^^thanks for the clarification mga migs. pwede man dyapon ma developed ang football field if they decide to, a hypermart or a rob will be perfect, pwed man mag lusot2x just like sa sm savemore east kag libertad nga ang entrance lusot2x sa main street.

Migs as I have said the Provincial Gov't doesn't have plans to remove the track oval, football field and the stadium itself because of its historical value to the city and province. Its the first outside of the metro. Win-win solution naman guro migs ang development sang Negros First Cyber Center since they have utilized the idle parts of the Paglaum Sports Complex.

Profitable to the province?..it is and it will be. Hulat lang bala kamo kay may plano na ina tanan. tapos na ina da ang feasibility study and may investors na ina dira nga naga negotiate for lease.....:)

I just wonder why won't the City Government of Bacólod invest in Sports Facilities complementary to the Provincial Government? At least a facility somewhere in Brgy. Estefania to cater at least to local events. By then, we can close Paglaum for good. :)

Migo, as you all know when Paglaum Sports Complex was built, Bacolod was still under the 3rd District of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City had its fair share of the costs in the construction of the complex. So mga city events could still be held there.

ah ok, city hospital gali ang gumersindo, daan na gid na kaayo sang ila building, perdi pa gali ang Bacolod kay wala kita ya city hospital, lying-in clinic lang kag just recently lang ginpatukod...

Sir, I have already asked this question so many times and the city has not enough budget to build and run its own hospital. That's why may lying-in clinic ta dira sa city health compound. And yes Bacolod pours money into CLMMRH to subsidize services of the hospital since almost a majority of patients there are from Bacolod City itself..

I agree, hundreds or even a thousand century old churches, convents, palaces and manors that are 400+ old spread across Europe and cruise along Thames and Rhine Rivers are mundane to them. Even for Eastern Asian tourist tak-an na sila sakay sa ferry and drink champagne while taking snapshots of Chao Phraya, Han and Yellow Rivers. Thats why when they visit PHL, most of them flock to pristine white beaches, dive spots and nature trekking.

^^it can be done @doc...bacolod should start somewhere baskin gamay lang anay nga hospital, 100 bed capacity is a start....since then baskin gani bus terminal, port wala gid ang bacolod naga patindog gin asa pa sa private sector, wala gid @doc political will most of the mayors. the city was successful in building and operating a school I don't see why its impossible to have its own hospital. si vlad ang pag-asa Vlad for Mayor! hehehe

the lying-in clinic of the city health is the best option nga i-elevate into a city hospital if they really want to build one. No need na nga mangita pa ang siyudad sang lugar kag magpatindog sang bag-o kay may operating system na nga ga exist.

balik tanaw...let's see what projects were accomplished

In his 2004 SOCA, Mayor Bing enumerated the following priority development projects:

1. Site development for squatters relocation

2. Moving our garbage dump from Mandalagan to a more suitable location

3. Construction of new roads or arteries that can help decongest traffic flow especially to the north

4. Operation of the Slaughter House in Handumanan

5. Construction of a coastal road or highway along our shorelines

6. Construction of new transportation terminals for north-bound and south-bound passengers

7. Construction of a new City Hall

I can say that the mayor was able to accomplish most of his priority development projects.

The Granada-Vista Alegre Resettlement I and II including the improvements made at Fortune Towne and Handumanan took care of priority number 1. The Handumanan Controlled Dumpsite and the soon-to-be commissioned Sanitary Landfill addressed item 2. The New Slaughterhouse in Handumanan answered item 4. Our city is now benefiting from the two north terminals. Bacoleños are proud of its majestic Government Center that serves not only as a seat of government but also as a tourist landmark and a favorite part and promenade area.

The 2 on-going bridges constructed to connect Taculing Road to Alijis Road and the Gatuslao Street to Robinson’s Place are going to create new arterial roads.

Essentially, what are just left to be accomplished are the coastal road or highway and the south terminal. I understand that there is now a serious study on the new south terminal.

syempre I am also frustrated about the transport terminal of the city but anhon mo kay nag decide sila to have it undergo into a BOT scheme.:ohno:

Agree gid ko diri, let us not only see the initial "building" cost but consider most of all the running costs of a hospital. Mabudlay kun city ang magpatindog since need naton lantawon ang long term. Basi agi man lang ang kasaw bala haw kag pagkatapos wala sang continuity, sayang lang ang initial nga investment sa hospital. I would rather see more private hospitals, while the city and province should focus more on improving on what we already have. As always mas maayo ang administration sang private hospitals compared to government ones. Also remember guys, hospitals are financed by taxes, more hospitals mean more taxes, kag middle class gid ang apektado kun magsaka ang tax. Te kabalo naman kita kun sin-o ina. :)

The BOT scheme is a good model since minimal ang tax implications sa tawo, ang dapat lang galing nga mangin stringent ang city sa pag screen sang contractor nga mag build, indi nga kun sin-o lang ang lapit sa luwag :ohno:

actually the "city hospital" has long been planned and drawn but as I have said, short ang budget for a full-scale hospital. Oca Verdeflor planned a "lying-in facility" at Fortune Towne but it didn't materialize. So the solution was seen after the govt center was finished. When the city hall compound was vacated by the other offices, it was then realized that a lying-in clinic should be built to maximize the city health compound. Sa akon amo ni ang indi pag pabay-an sang siyudad kay diri na di ma realize ang handum nga city hospital naton :)

The HUC-candidacy of Kabankalan is a matter of population na lang. Once the next census declares it beyond 200,000, amo na na pag-HUC sina. As for economic requirements, sobra na guid kalapaw sa minimum. Lapit na lang gani P1-B ila. :applause:

the lying-in clinic of the city health is the best option nga i-elevate into a city hospital if they really want to build one. No need na nga mangita pa ang siyudad sang lugar kag magpatindog sang bag-o kay may operating system na nga ga exist.

Bacolod City College vs a bacolod city hospital. A school is an affordable option but ang hospital migs kamahal. I have peered into financial budgets of the one where I am working and grabe ang operating cost kag grabe ang losses ...much expensive pa sya as compared to a school (I saw budget from one big private school di sa Bacolod).

there is a limit in comparison of Bacolod to its component cities so we cant always equalize successful projects of other towns and cities to Bacolod.^^

syempre I am also frustrated about the transport terminal of the city but anhon mo kay nag decide sila to have it undergo into a BOT scheme.:ohno:

Pwede man guro semi-private run ang Bacolod Hospital but of course we can't expect free for all services pero we should expect a bit cheaper.
The clinic in near West Negros is a good start and it should just be improve and expanded by the next administration.
