Hataw ang schools sa Bacolod.Indi na gid man maasi-asi ah.

migo, hahaha, about gali sa new project of brgy ptatay for putting viewing decks along seawall. Daw ala Balaring ang set up. Labayan ko gid ni every morning kada jogging ko. I think ma hit gid ni coz they are serving fresh seafoods. Damu pa sisi. I'll post some pics ah ara bi sang memory sang phone ko. Maybe tomorrow ah.:)

May plan pa kuno nga zip line sa dira man nga area sang viewing sang seawall sa Punta-taytay.Someone has mentioned to me about this project in seawall and they are planning nga I land fill ang area.
That is really fantastic that they are serving fresh seafoods Kay I'm seeing it as mangin Manokan Country style.Fresh air and fresh foods are perfect combination.

I love Murcia so much! Such a lovely town, so near Bacólod yet so rustic. This is my Dad's hometown and I love going here year by year. It has wonderful memories especially that time I first preached here. After preach, kaon manok, ubad with kadios... namit! :drool:

They improved Alcala Beach Resort? Ano na hitusura subong? First time nga nagkadto ko da, nakakita ko patay na sea gull sa tupad baybay. Nagdalagan ko dayun sa teacher ko kag ginsugid sa iya. Sang lunch, wala na gana magkaon kay kakita ko dead wildlife. :nuts:

Baw ah...ang Alcala Beach sang una amo gid ang kadtu-an since its much more "open" than Villarosa Beach. And may concrete na da sila nga jetty sa dagat nga gina dungkaan sang ila fishing boats

Sang mahigko na ang punta-taytay tawag na da namon "kala-kala beach"

subong nami gid da kadto to see sisi and fresh fish...may ara man uga.

Pompz...next time bala didto meet ang SSC for a seaside lunch....:banana::banana::banana:

^^ The boat in the banner of Tallinn, Estonia looks like that of Sea Angels sang una. I'm just curious, will the present Tallinn skyline be the future one of Bacólod? They seem alike especially that Tallinn is also by the sea and is one hilly city as well like our city. :cheers:

Tanduay allots P1.8 billion for factory upgrades

LIQUOR PRODUCER Tanduay Holdings, Inc. will spend around P1.8 billion in the next two years to upgrade its distillation, bottling, and storage facilities, a ranking official said late last week.

He said the company will be spending around P700 million for the expansion of its bottling lines in Negros Occidental and Cabuyao, Laguna.

ah amu gid ni sya guro mig...nabal-an ko lang lcc-bacolod kag lcc-lacarlota city...kun amo 2 na ang college sa murcia: lcc kag ang cpac (cent.phil.adventist college)...na remember ko na gina push anay ang murcia into a cityhood,,,basi ang lopues pwedi na makadugang sang income sang murcia para enough na maging ciudad or gamay pa gid siguro nga commercial businesses nga mag sprout sa murcia...may posibilidad ni ayhan nga pwedi sya ma include sa bacolod metropolitan system kun mag ciudad na sya...indi ka magpuli december mig?

Ang La Consolacion Murcia is just a few meters away from Open Bible College and ang gasolinahan dira. May ara kapehan lapit nga ginakadtuan ka mga konsehales cada aga before mag session sa legislative bldg. and sang una, si f-Congw. Edith Villanueva kis-a. :cheers:

Philippine Macaque or Macaca philippinensis....its good that these monkeys are having a rebound in their dwindling population two decades ago.....I hope the after we disallow poaching and hunting of Philippine monkeys, we will also continue to protect our forests kay wala man pulos nga ga conserve ta wildlife pero ang primary and secondary forest gina allow naton sudlan sang agricultural activities ^^

Well, if i-consider nila ang claim for Araneta Street that runs all the way from the Bacolod Public Plaza to the entrance of the Bago Coliseum pwede man ah for the longest street sa 'pinas...takson nila eh for the official length, since its name is unchanged on its whole stretch. hehehehhe...:lol:

MANILA—The Philippine University Games (Unigames) will return to its roots in Bacolod City next year, a tournament official said Monday.

According to UniGames president Roger Banzuela, the City of Smiles will host the event which traced its beginnings at the University of St. La Salle in 1996.

Bacolod also played host to the tournament featuring the country’s best college athletes in 2007.

In men’s basketball, Ateneo de Manila regained the crown they lost last year after subduing West Negros University, 76-62, in the finals.

Justin Chua, whose family hails from Bacolod City, topscored for the Eagles with 22 points, while sophomore guard Juami Tiongson added 15.

Fil-Am Jonathan Evangelista sizzled for 25 points in a losing cause for the Mustangs.

Mas laba tani ang Lacson Street pero galing maglab-ot ka sa Talisay, lain na ang pangalan kag sa Silay, ang Lacson Street nangin Rizal Street which is a short street in Bacólod naman ya. :nuts: Tani they should make the name uniform sa tanan na lugar. :ohno:

actually kun wala tani nag-ulan I took more pics, but ga talithi abi.

You know migs, there was an "odd feeling" I had when I went thru the Central Citywalk...the ambiance was like the one I felt when I first put my feet on Greenbelt and Serendra. I know its just a small place to go around but the ambiance is nice. Bisan wala pa nag open ang shops mabatyaga mo nga this place has "class"......may mga foreigner to gani gina nga galibot libot and damo na ga kadto sa Virtu Salon.

I hope the citywalk will live up to its expectations. And the GO Hotel wont be just a budget and business hotel with this shop-with class-place beside it.

kung ako pamangkuton madala ni sa metro bacolod kay ang development gapasaka man sa murcia, like subdivisions,tanduay abi na ang ila factory ara man da. Kag damo taga murcia gaubra sa bacolod,just like sang mga taga victorias,sarabia,silay,talisay,bago,kag biskan ang taga la carlota. Btw migs about LCC sa Isabela may ara man sila didto sister school kag sa hinigaran siguro daw ila man na da sister school bala mo.

Ang atun nga Metropolitan System is recognized by NEDA pero informal pa kay wala pa sang law to establish a permanent council. Kung ako galing ang paga pamangkuton, dapat i-include nila ang Murcia biskan town para sa rapid development man sini. :)

Nami tani kung brewed native coffee ang iya nga baligya. Ang timplada ko ya ka native coffee is either with milk, cinnamon and muscovado sugar or with coconut milk (gata) and muscovado sugar. Mas nanam galing ang native coffee na may gata. :cheers:

Wala na ko da ya ka experience sang school days sa Trinity Church site. Ang madumduman ko lang da ya is that after the First Service ga serve sila freshly baked bread, juice kag coffee cada Sunday served by my Chinese teachers in both Tay Tung and Trinity. :lol:

tuod gid ni ang ginhambal mo migs. Sang gamay pa ako,sa isa ka simana 6 days gid ako gakadto sa Trinity kay 5 days nga school days kag taga sunday,ga-sunday school ako da. Dul-ong sugat sang mini van sang Trinity,free.:-) i love my tcs years.

Nature at its best mig, kag indi masyado ka layo sa city. This November they will be constructing additional cottages for those who want to stay overnight kay sa subong duwa pa lang gid and its always booked especially during weekends. Ang nami pa gid kay wala nila gina tapas ang mga kahoy.

More CPK outlets readied for locales beyond Manila

THE LOCAL franchisee of dining chain California Pizza Kitchen will step up its foray outside of Metro Manila to add to company sales, a ranking official said last week.

As much as six new outlets are being planned with locations like Subic, Laguna, Cebu and Davao among the ones being considered, Global Restaurant Concepts, Inc. President and Chief Executive Archie C. Rodriguez said.

By 2013, the firm is aiming to have 15 to 20 stores depending on the outcome of next year’s expansion.

“We want to see how the regional growth goes. I’ll be interested in looking also in Dumaguete, Bacolod, and key cities outside Metro Manila,” he said. “I can’t see the reason why we can’t get 15 to 20 stores nationwide by 2013, I think we should be able to do that.”

Yep I agree. In short kulang lang sa duso. Tani ang in-charge sa city mayor's office would think of this and use the records and documentations of our past and recent stints on award-giving bodies. Ang nabal-an ko nga pwerte ka pisan nga city on these undertakings is Naga City. I think it is the city with the most number of international recognitions....ginsuguran gid tanan ni former mayor and now DILG Secretary Jessie Robredo :banana::banana::banana:

The centerpiece of the Master Plan is the development of a “new city” next to the key infrastructure feature – state-of-the-art domestic airport of international standard. This new metropolis is projected to grow around special economic zones and export processing points to be built in the airport’s periphery.

In our wish list is a Light Railway Transit System from our airport. It is currently being mulled to traverse from the airport to Bacolod City and eventually to Bago City in the south and Cadiz City in the north. Our supplemental infra projects include a flyover at the intersection of the national highway and the AIDSISA road to Brgy. Lantad.

A 25-hectare Special Economic Zone right beside the airport is being processed for accreditation of PEZA. A school (WNU) has signified its intention to build a school in Hacienda Bagacay as human resource base for the economic zones. Also in the drawing board are plans for a golf course, a horse race track, a car race track and a five-star hotel with 3,000 seat convention hall.The general area of Guimbala-on shows good potentials for retirement communities which can be developed together with golf course or leisure farms.

CITY PROFILE 2010

BRIEF HISTORY

San Carlos City was formerly named Nabingkalan, in honor of a beautiful daughter of a chieftain Negrito settlement in the area. The settlement was later bought by Carlos Apurado from Badian, Cebu who, with the help of fellow pioneers, developed the settlement into a thriving Christian Village.

In 1856, Señor Don Emilio Saravia, the first political military governor of Negros Island during the Spanish era, renamed the place and established it as a “pueblo”.

San Carlos prospered through the years, however, the village lost its “pueblo” category, and in 1890, when Negros Island was divided into Occidental Negros and Oriental Negros, San Carlos was recorded as an “arrabal” or barrio of Calatrava (Hilub-an).

San Carlos acquired its status as a town in late 1898 when Gen Juan Araneta of the Revolutionary Philippine republic officially proclaimed it as a municipality. This was confirmed by the American Military Administration in 1901.

In May 1942, the Japanese army occupied the town and encountered a defiant Municipal Mayor, Eugenio Antonio Sr., who refused to surrender and collaborate with them. He railed the renegade soldiers along with loyal civilians and organized them as a guerilla unit. Thus, San Carlos became the hotbed of resistance activities against the Japanese imperial forces by the first Combat team, 7th MD (Negros) Guerilla forces, under Major Uldarico Baclagon.

San Carlos became a city on July 1, 1960 with the passage of Republic act No. 2643.

Another historical milestone in the file of the city is the cabinet meeting of Pres. Fidel V. Ramos in the last August 27,1996 making the San Carlos the first component city to be made the venue of a Presidential cabinet meeting.

hinay uswag nya mig kesa kabankalan,,,kita mo ulihi lang nag ciudad ang kabankalan pero i think daku na ang income nya kesa san carlos...pero daw mayu ang infrastructure dev't sang san carlos kesa kabankalan,,,kita mo lapad dalan nila kag damo interlink nga roads kag of course may daku sila nga seaport...damo lang abi population ang kabankalan amuna guro nga daku income kay damo consumers kag visionay pa gid ila city officials
By sustainability, sustainable guid man ang development ka San Carlos pero economic-wise, mas prosperous ang Kabankalan City. May duwa na sila ka major malls like Lopue's and Gaisano, soon may airport naman which is planned for international standards. :cheers:

I would want to steer clear of the immediate surroundings of The Ruins para mamaintain ang iya pagka-peaceful. Mayo kung a distance away from The Ruins, nga far enough for noise not to reach there pero kitaon still. I'm sure added tourist attraction sa Talisay. :cheers:

Negros poised to become Philippines’ sheep capital

GOVERNOR Alfredo Marañon Jr. said Negros Occidental will soon become the sheep capital of the Philippines, with 6,000 to 7,000 heads of this animal set to be delivered to the province anytime this year.

Upon its arrival, the whole shipment will be delivered directly to the Negros First Ranch in Barangay Sta. Rosa, Murcia.

The cattle house prepared by the Provincial Vet's Office will instead serve as sheep house, Marañon said.

Mayor signs plastic ordinance

MAYOR Evelio Leonardia signed into law City Ordinance 562, series of 2011, which will regulate the use of plastics in Bacolod City.

The ordinance was authored by Councilor Em Ang and co-authored by Councilors Al Victor Espino and Caesar Distrito.

The approved city ordinance will regulate the sale, provision and use of plastic bags as packing materials. It prohibited use of plastic bags as packing materials, as this was proven to be an environmental hazard as plastics will not decompose.

The following fines will be imposed upon violators of the ordinance: first offense -- a fine of P1,000 and confiscation of plastic bags; second offense -- a fine of P3,000 and confiscation of plastic bags; and third offense -- a fine of P5,000, confiscation of plastic bags, and/or imprisonment of not more than six months, upon the discretion of the courts, and cancellation of business establishment's permit to operate for a period of one year.

Fiscal support sought for San Carlos airport project

THE Regional Development Council in Western Visayas has approved the request of the City Government of San Carlos in Negros Occidental for financial assistance from the National Government with regard the P1.22-billion ongoing construction of its community airport.

The project involves the construction of a community airport in a 40-hectare land donated by the Negros Fisheries Corporation and is located adjacent to the city's special economic zone.

Once completed, the airport is expected to serve as a support facility to the ecozone.

Funding will be sourced from local funds and the city's Internal Revenue Allotment share with the DOTC and the Office of 1st district Representative Julio Ledesma IV.

City Administrator Rogelio Balo, who led the conduct of a feasibility study to determine the merit of the proposal that was already submitted to the City Mayor's Office, said that, at this point in time, all indications point to advantages that could be had in privatizing garbage collection.

He noted that given the red tape and hindrances that usually come with government operations, "this is a step expected to improve our garbage collection system, which has become gigantic and complex considering our rapid economic growth and continuing increase in population."
