He mostly lives in his house in a high-class subdivision near the Airport in Silay. He may have a house in Talisay but it is in Silay where he usually stays. :lol: There are stories on why he chose a very secluded place near Bacólod but that's for another story altogether. :nuts:

Yesterday's tour in Silay is an eye-opener. Sacadas are part of our province's history and contributed to the growth of our economy yet they are the groups of people in the province rarely studied. Apparently, they have a wonderfully unique culture too like hacienderos...

The aroma of coffee grown in Negros is very inviting especially if your sugar is either muscovado or coco sugar. Our coffee also goes well with piaya, a delicacy of usually muscovado inside an unleavened bread. A demo on how it is made...

The group of businessman Manny Pangilinan has recently taken a liking for a soft commodity that doesn’t seem in sync with its local interests in infrastructure, telecom or mining. Specifically, the First Pacific group was spotted on the prowl for prospective local sugar investments.

So will the Metro Pacific group be a consolidator acquiring one sugar mill after another just like its strategy in scaling up hospital operations? It seems now that there are certain issues that hamper doing so. For one, to be more viable in running sugar mills, one must also own sugar plantations. As we all know, Metro Pacific has given up on the property business years ago. It remains to be seen whether farmlands would be a different story.

Earlier, she had noted how impressive the BGC was that night: the massive building, the crowd from all walks of life, both framing Charlie Co’s Dreamers Floating Carousel in the fountain area.

Aside from affirming the city’s egalitarian character, that nighttime BGC scene also told of the sense of style of your people, Escudero said. Style, borne out of your genteel heritage is pronounced here, but I can also see you’re moving on and working on a better tomorrow. She also said she saw the footages of the last MassKara, and she had, ahem, two words for it: world-class.

And she is no ordinary investor: she represents a news and entertainment company which is a complex organization requiring extraordinary circumstances before it plunks its money in an activity or investment. Indeed, media companies especially in the scale of GMA need to see a confluence of circumstances before deciding to invest in one place or one show or one talent for that matter. GMA must indeed have seen this confluence in our city and province, it is now boosting its presence here. For it to do that in what is decidedly ABS-CBN country means it must have found something exciting here.

^^what are you thinking? hehe. but, i have to disagree with what the writer (was it banal, again?) says. sugar mills need NOT own large plantations to operate. all sugar mills in negros island do not own the land where sugarcane are grown. i need not elaborate on that.:)

New Negros Integrated North and South Realty Development Corporation represented by its project director general Architect Jose Jungco, legal consultant lawyer Roberto Camarista, and Dredger International consultrant Augusto Montelibano presented to the governor proposal.

The bridge will stretch 12 nautical miles or 16 kilometers and will traverse from Valladolid in Negros Occidental to Jordan in Guimaras and Iloilo.

Jungco said part of the project will be the reclamation of 100 hectares at the boulevard of Valladolid town.

Camarista said the project was already given the approval to secure the required permits by Secretary Mar Roxas of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) and Secretary Rogelio Singson of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The first phase of the project will have a budget of P1.3 trillion, according to Jungco.

The fund for the project will have Euro funding.

He added the groundbreaking was supposed to be held last November 4 but has not pushed through because he was hospitalized on that day.

The exact date will be fixed upon his arrival from Singapore where he will meet this week with the funder.

Jungco said the Negros Panay bridge will be modeled after the Golden Gate Bridge. (Teresa Ellera-Dulla)

Its interesting to note that MVP and Gokongwei has some sort of alliance sa telco with the acquisition of Sun by Smart. We cant discount the possibility that they would have this alliance again. Universal Robina has two sugar central in Negros ( Sonedco in Occidental and URSUMCO in Oriental) 1 in Luzon (CARSUMCO) and 1 in Panay (Passi Sugar). 4 all in all.

Better spend some of those on improvement of the the ports I have earlier mentioned including Hinigaran, Himamaylan and Sipalay Port, and flood control and mitigation along the flood prone Bagonawa Creek and adjacent areas. Since pirmi na da ga baha why not require houses to be built on concrete pillars that will act as stilts para kun magbaha houses will be high and dry and boats will be on standby.

Its interesting to note that MVP and Gokongwei has some sort of alliance sa telco with the acquisition of Sun by Smart. We cant discount the possibility that they would have this alliance again. Universal Robina has two sugar central in Negros ( Sonedco in Occidental and URSUMCO in Oriental) 1 in Luzon (CARSUMCO) and 1 in Panay (Passi Sugar). 4 all in all.

Hehe I agree, imagine 2-years' worth of budget sang pinas ibutang lang sa isa ka infrastructure :lol:

Pero kun dayunon nila kag wala lang utang nga need bayaran taxes ok man ni, maka benepisyo especially ang mga local supplier sang construction materials kag ang mga construction workers.

yes mig, but maybe they can buy the land and build a new sugar central kay nami gid ang location kay may own port ang old central.....also ang Danao Central sa Toboso may ara man sila sang ila port....speculation man lang ni ah but I think kon mag invest gid man ang MVP group sa sugar industry mabakal nalang gid na sila sang existing na mga centrales just like what they are doing sa ila investments sa mga hospitals.

Jungco said part of the project will be the reclamation of 100 hectares at the boulevard of Valladolid town.
The first phase of the project will have a budget of P1.3 trillion, according to Jungco.

The fund for the project will have Euro funding.

He added the groundbreaking was supposed to be held last November 4 but has not pushed through because he was hospitalized on that day.

The exact date will be fixed upon his arrival from Singapore where he will meet this week with the funder.

Jungco said the Negros Panay bridge will be modeled after the Golden Gate Bridge.

Three Trillion is ridiculous.

Incheon Bridge costs exceeded $1.4 billion US. This is 21.38 Kilometers.

The bridge will stretch 12 nautical miles or 16 kilometers and will traverse from Valladolid in Negros Occidental to Jordan in Guimaras and Iloilo. For P3Trillion is absolutely ridiculous.

The Capitol is mum about it. Just taking time for spoilers and probable detractors to derail the agreement.Ang sa akon lang lets not talk about it if wala pa finality......we might be chasing pretty rainbows in the wrong end...:lol::lol::lol::lol:...la kaso ah kun mangibot ang Ayala-Capitol or if makasagap na ta developments ipanagtag ta na when the time comes.Basta ah, let it simmer for a while and be cooked. ;)

its really ripe for bacolod to have 2 districts. i hope ma-approve na before the 2013 mid-term elections.

^^ilang floors yung SanParq Tower?and ito rin ba ang current tallest sa W-Visayas region?commercial building lang ba to or mixed?

any way ask ko lng din yung lahat ng MCDONALD'S Bacolod ay franchisee ba or company owned from Golden Arch Devt?and ilan na yung MCDO jan?and if im not mistaken first McCafe of mcdo is in bacolod im I right ba?

^^yes, so far this is the tallest with 15 floors and 70 meters high...BPO building lang amigo. i don't want to preempt who's going to occupy this. let's wait na lang for an official announcement.

^^i think all are company owned na..there are at least 6 (not sure) mcdo scattered all over the city plus 1 kiosk type in front of riverside hospital
