kusinero November 28th, 2011, 07:01 AM ang pagdumalahan lang mig ang indi kabalo magpa uswag sang banwa namon...ambot kun ngaa nga wala gid na sya ga imbitar sang mga imbestor...debwinas lang sya kay nagmasakit si mayor celot but i believe nga maka revive ang borromero family para sa politiko someday...ang bukid nga duta namon sa uma daw nami man gani tamnan sang mga prutas ugaling kay tam-an ka hillside kag upland,,,may mga kape nga tanum pero gamay lang kag may mga saging man:cheers:
Another thing that I can recommend, and I am planning to try and would like to implement in the near future, is malunggay plantation. Malunggay/Balunggay also known as Moringa Oleifera is a very good source of oil, which can compete with Olive Oil in its quality, wala lang galing naton masyado ginahatagan sang attention ang ini nga gold mine nga ara lang sa aton ugsaran. I have gathered studies on this plant, especially for commercial purposes, and its very viable commercially. Very good gid ni siya sa slope soil, mas gusto niya ni actually ang slopes since it needs a well drained soil. This can also be an alternative to jathropa as a source of biofuel. Jathropa was a flop since indi sustainable. Another good thing about balunggay is it is a nutritious food both for humans and livestock, so wala ka ga compete sa food security compared sa jathropa nga toxic. Kun gusto mo sang information I have it here :)
For the soil and climatic condition ka Candoni, nami da ang shade-grown robusta coffee, amo man sa saging.
Nami tani ang gobyerno mismo ang gahatag guia sa mga pumuluyo on how to do sustainable farming.
Kung wala nagmasakit si Mayor Celot kag napalapad niya ang iya vineyard, grape-producing town na tani ang Candoni, just like towns in Ilocos, La Union and Tarlac. :ohno:
haha daw rice terraces gali doc gwa ya kun rice itanum galing hiwat tubig ang palibot nya...pwedi man avocado or lanzones,,,ga tubo man gani didto ang sarali nga prutas...magpuli ko sa december ambalun ko pamilya ko bla nga tamnan namun sang mga kape amun bukid:cheers:

Timing ba! Nadala sa timetable of plans namun ang maluggay plantation. We are working on a partnership with the Cruz-Flores Family of Nueva Ecija who owns the biggest and most successful malunggay plantations in Central Luzon.
A hectare alone can already bring you PhP4-M in returns within 6months to a year, depende sa pagtubo. Ang ginahalinan sang oil though is the malunggay seeds. He said na as much as possible, indi guid pagkwaan dahon ang puno kay dira mas gadamo ang bunga. Pero galing, maluggay oil is more on food supplement than actually of culinary value. :)

I think the number of vehicles contributes to the various reasons.

^^ Actually migs, there are already plans for the Malunggay Plantation to produce Malunggay Oils from its seeds then ang greens nya ya will be powderized and will be packaged as a capsule-like medicine and will be supplied to Public Schools all around the Province. I read it sometime ago sa VDS nalipat lang ko bi kag indi ko expert mang ukay sa Baul... hehehehe then ang isa pa guid nila ka gina target ang mga end product sang malunggay they will use it daw for a mini biomass plant to generate power. And since Malunggay is very easy to grow, every household in the province is encouraged to plant and grow at least 10-20 trees and mga citizens mismo ang ma supply sang seeds and other parts sang malunggay sa planta which will then assign a specific contractor para mag collect and purchase sini sa mga balay balay. Ang plan pa gani is to put this up sa BREDCO... Basta if my memory serves me right, I read it sometime ago... nalipat lang ko... Gina eye pa gani nila ang Malunggay as alternative to Jathropa for the Biodiesel Production sa Negros... :):banana::banana::banana:

Oo mig, actually this is one thing that caught my attention about balunggay, since nga kadasig sang iya returns kay kadasig man magtubo sang tanom kag kadasig mamunga. Seeds are very good sources of oil and livestock feed, also fertilizer and water purifier. The leaves can be used as food supplement, and livestock feed and of course, your usual tea. As for the current use sang oil, it is being bought by cosmetics companies for their products, and also as biofuel. On the culinary side, need pa i-perfect ang oil extraction para wala bitter taste which is very balunggay. Once madula ini, it can compete directly with olive oil.

Kung sa Bisaya pa mig, bahala na matumba ang balay indi lang ang kamunggay. it's a good source of vitamins and antioxidant:) Ang Balunggay gusto nya ni humid climate kag indi clay and duta. kay notice ko sa bukid sang san carlos indi mayo ang tubo sang balunggay kag isa pa tugnaw didto nga daan.

Oo mig, sandy loam ni ang perfect soil for the plant. It is also tolerant to cold weather, although mas dasig gid ang iya growth sa tropical climate.

I think, the area where malunggay oil can compete with olive oil is in the nutritive side. Sa taste ya, biskan indi siya bitter, another story. :)

Linguine November 29th, 2011, 04:22 AM Tourism Zone to Rise in Negros Occidental
A tourism zone will soon be established in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental. This was the product of the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Authority (TIEZA) Roadshow conducted over the weekend in Bacolod City by TIEZA and the Bacolod City government, initiated by former Congressman John N. Orola, Jr, chairman, tourism council of Bacolod City. The Roadshow was attended by academe, business, government and other sectors.
As a matter of fact, the air buses of Cebu Pacific and Philippine airlines are the same aircrafts flying from Manila to Hong Kong or Singapore and back to Manila. All we need to do is extend our runway, and open the offices of Immigration and Customs. We can even cater to direct flights from Bacolod to Hong Kong or Singapore, or Malaysia once a week only as a start. This will be a big boon to our tourism industry.
Former congressman Orola said, "I will make a noise. We’ll start a TIEZA in Bacolod. "Look South" policy from Singcang to Punta Taytay, Brgy. Cabug, to Hinoba-an. We will have the look South Movement soon," Orola stressed.*

Church endorses
solar power plant
The Social Action Center, in behalf of Diocese of Bacolod, yesterday endorsed the solar power plant project proposed by Youil Renewable Energy Corp. to be constructed in Barangay Sto. Nino, E.B. Magalona, Negros Occidental.
The proposed solar project to be built on a 71-hectare site in E.B. Magalona is a most welcome development in the church’s crusade for clean energy, Fr. Aniceto Buenafe Jr., Social Action Center director, said in a press statement.

‘Bacolod picked pilot area for its leadership’
BY CHRYSEE SAMILLANO
The national coordinator for the Philippines of the Partnership for Democratic Local Governance in Southeast Asia (DELGOSEA) said they have chosen Bacolod as the pilot city in the Philippines for their best practice transfer project because of its quality of leadership.
Antonio Avila Jr. yesterday said they are happy that Bacolod has qualified to be one of the pilot areas for the project, primarily because it adheres to the principles of good governance and transparency, and because of its leadership which plays a very significant role in ensuring the successful replication of Cambodia’s best practices
Avila said the DELGOSEA project has prepared 16 Best Practices from five participating countries – Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Vietnam.

^^ That is a geo-political and economic reality that everyone must realize. Centers of power are shifting from traditional centers of power to the modern frontiers. In the case of Bacólod, its the fruit of hardwork with a mix of good governance. I think gina market na ini basi subong among embassies and English schools or thru their agencies..buligan ta eh by reposting this flight announcement :banana::banana::banana:
wow congratz to us, hopefully it will continue on to be a regular flight not only that but add destinations like singapore or hongkong...incheon is a great choice to start with i bet korean schools not only in bacolod but in iloilo had informed korean students to take this route.basi tuod may stop over sa manila, korea - manila - bacolod and vice versa.
Sigurado nahimo na na nila. Long time Bacólod-resident Koreans, students from Bacólod and Iloilo have been informed na ni for sure. They don't need to hop to Manila/Cebú or hours of trip to Kalibo just to fly to Korea. They just have to stop by Bacólod-Silay International Airport to do so. I'm sure, ZestAir is willing to sustain this kay daw wala sense nga ma-start sila nga wala future plan.
I'm sure na direct flight na kay when ZestAir started with their Kalibo one, wala man stopover, direct flight na. :D
^^ We all do our part to help this wonderful endeavor and for returning the favor to zest air who put their faith in Negros... BACOLOD AND NEGROS is indeed BLESSED...

^^ Amazing isnt it not???:banana::banana::banana::banana:
well at least they are testing the schedule and feasibility...dira man gid ga sugod ang flights like Kalibo. Chartered lang anay and seasonal
Ang importante they will test so if they would be satisfied regular flight na next....yeheeeey......kanami ah....this would pave way for proable internationa flights to have chartered services to Negros for Panaad Sa Negros and Masskara Festival
^^ Bisan Seasonal Chartered lang doc, ok lang na for a start. THINGS like these DOESNT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT... Im pretty sure they have made a study regarding this one and proved to be feasible amo na nga may ara na kita...:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

^^ GWAPA GWAPA GUID YA SANG BACOLOD AH!!!
This is what happens migs when companies think out of the box and get out of their comfort zone, a major unanticipated move from an upstart airline company that surprised everyone with its audacity, a purely business decision I may say without any major help ( to my knowledge) from the cities and province concerned, great news indeed before the end of an exciting year for us, a paradigm shift that veers away from the context that everything emanates from the center (regional capital).....ang manami pa kay wala kita nagpakitluoy ukon nangita maninoy para lang maka international flight kita....more power to Zest Air.......
^^ You hit it right tito... I LOVE THE HIGHLIGHTED STATEMENT... SO TRUE

As I have said, yes we are excited with the news but its too early to be celebrating much. I am reserving my confetti and glorious praises once that Zest Air A320 touches down from Incheon or when it takes-off for Incheon
As of now its remains a fact that Zest Air is offering this opportunity to open Bacolod and Negros Occidental to international travel
bacolodchamp November 29th, 2011, 01:58 PM ^^same here @dockie...while its too early to celebrate, we're just happy that out of nowhere, the bacolod-incheon route will open as we have been praying it will. with the increasing trade and tourism relations between our cities, i know it will come to a point that they make it a regular route as bacolod city is home to thousands of korean students and some of their families, not to mention those in nearby areas. on the other hand, bacolonons and negrenses who are known to be "jet-setters" won't let this opportunity pass to visit and experience korea as well:)

boy muscovado November 29th, 2011, 03:03 PM ^^susmaryosep....patawarin ka. ang sugar boom migs sang 60's pa.:hammer::hammer:
actually there are three "heights" in the Negrense sugar industry.
Spanish - 1850's to 1900's - "horno economico" era c/o Yves Leopold Gaston
American Commonwealth - 1920's - 1940's - the growth and establishment of Negros sugar mills
the modern Sugar Boom - 1950's - mid 70's - with the help of the Laurel-Langley Agreement, the US sugar quota dumped overflowing earnings to the Negros and the Philippines as a whole
I dunno if I could call it "urban legend" but sugar enriched the farm-owners of Negros enough to make them buy the latest cars to the extent of buying them and shipped from abroad, sending their children to school in Europe, go shopping in Iloilo, Cebu and Manila and going home afterwards, establishing a lavish annual masquerade ball "Rigodon de Honor" at Manila Hotel and chartering flights/boat trips to explore formerly "hard-to-reach" islands of Boracay and Sicogon :banana::banana::banana:
