Miami, Florida (June 29, 2010) Responding to Medimix’s steady growth in the Asia Pacific region and increasing demand for an around-the-clock team of programmers, data and medical support managers, Medimix International has announced the recent opening of a new back office in Bacolod, Philippines.

Bacolod City, known as "The City of Smiles," is in the center of the Philippines and located 800 miles south east of Hong Kong, where Medimix International has its Asia Pacific headquarters. It can be reached by air in 50 minutes from Manila and in 30 minutes from Cebu. To support its recruitment efforts, Medimix International is partnering locally with different universities and medical schools which offer a rich pool of qualified, English-speaking employees.

The Bacolod team provides multilingual services in English, French, and Spanish, and supports other languages, such as Japanese and Mandarin.

migs its a matter of saying and writing it in Spanish or English. The province was chartered (1902) by the way it was written in Spanish ( the proper noun first before the adjective) to describe "Western Negros", thus Negros Occidental .... but when the capitol was built in 1929 (?), it was the American Commonwealth Era thus it was named in English "Occidental Negros"...the same applies with our Oriental side.

Spanish: CAPITOLIO DE NEGROS OCCIDENTAL

English: CAPITOL OF OCCIDENTAL NEGROS

Actually migo Chris, Occidental and Oriental are also English words. Amo na kung kis-a, ang tawag sa Eastern Cuisine Oriental Cuisine kag ang Western Culture is sometimes called Occidental Culture.

Ang naming sang Negros provinces reflects which cultures have the most influence. Ang Occidental is very much Hispanized hence our preferences, celebrations and cuisine is very much Hispanic with Masskara as a good example, while ang Oriental very much Americanized, with Silliman as the monument to that very pleasant fact. :D

Galing sa mga naka-notice, ang Province sa dalum sang pangalan ka Provincial Hospital is Occidental Negros. :)

^^ I think we have the same info migs... but akon is just a confirmation since they called me last Wednesday to start na work for a Finance Account and asked if ok daw with me to be assigned in their planned relocation at Dumaguete...

I asked ngaa may relocation sila sa Dumaguete... the Recruitment Senior Manager (whom I PERSONALLY KNOW since she came from CONVERGY'S Bacolod as Team Lead for Mediacom account) told me that a "certain" new site is not meeting expectations and for almost a year, stagnant daw ila nga status sa recruits (sa ila mismo nga Lugar ha) amo na nga always sila may Job Caravan sa Dumaguete, Bacolod, Cebu and Davao...

Most nga mga agents nila either came from Manila, Cebu, Dumaguete and Davao... ila mga Team Specialists daw mostly halin pa sa Convergy's Bacolod or Accenture Cebu... Hambal nya, they are still deciding whether or not the certain site will be relocated either Dumaguete or Bacolod, pero hambal nya sa akon, their initial notice is to inform "Qualified" agents for the financial account that the relocation would be in Dumaguete... but disclosed to me that out of the 85 nga i train nila for the positions, 39 are from Bacolod (some were re-deployed from their Office here in Manila para mag-man sang "certain" new site nila...)

Bacolod or Dumaguete... Bisan diin lang sa ila ah... TATAK NEGRENSE na ya!!! :lol::lol::lol::lol:

(unfortunately, wala ko guin accept ang offer nila since OK na OK na guid ko di subong sa bag-o ko nga work... at least FIXED ang schedule and Sat-Sun ang Day off... tawhay pa ka account and WORTH IT guid ang pay... :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:)

Gaway lang ah pero these are the kind of jobs and companies we want in Bacolod and all over the Philippines. These are highly technical and creative stuffs. Capitol to preserve NOPJ landmarks

The site of the defunct Negros Occidental Provincial jail owned by the provincial government is up for lease but historical landmarks at the facility will be preserved, Jose Ma. Valencia, chief of staff of Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., said yesterday.

He cited the jail arch, and bricks that date back to 1889.

The governor has ordered the preservation of these materials, Valencia said.

Valencia said he will recommend to the governor that the proposal of 888 Chinatown Square to lease the property to construct a three-storey structure, with the third floorserving as a parking area that can accommodate about 250 vehicles, be published.

The publication will trigger a public bidding, he added.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan this week granted the governor authority to decide what to do with the property.*CPG

City officials inaugurate water refilling stations

Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Vice Mayor Jude Thaddeus Sayson inaugurated the city’s water refilling station projects in barangays Bata and Mansilingan, Bacolod City, Thursday.

The City of Bacolod has put up 10 refilling stations in barangays Bata, Mansilingan, Singcang, Tangub, Banago, Villamonte, Sum-ag, Handumanan, Taculing and Mandalagan, in response to the need for affordable clean water of the poor, a press release from City Hall said.

While the city paid for the construction of the water refilling stations at P1,047,200 each, it is the barangays that will operate and maintain them.*

Actually migo Chris, Occidental and Oriental are also English words. Amo na kung kis-a, ang tawag sa Eastern Cuisine Oriental Cuisine kag ang Western Culture is sometimes called Occidental Culture.

That's a variety of Tilapia nga albino...I think its the genetics and interbreeding of tilapias in the Lagoon for so long. Kapila ko da gani kakita albino nga tilapia nga puro gid ya puti kag orange...looks more like a koi crossed with a tilapia...:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Capitol to preserve NOPJ landmarks

The site of the defunct Negros Occidental Provincial jail owned by the provincial government is up for lease but historical landmarks at the facility will be preserved, Jose Ma. Valencia, chief of staff of Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr., said yesterday.

He cited the jail arch, and bricks that date back to 1889.

The governor has ordered the preservation of these materials, Valencia said.

Valencia said he will recommend to the governor that the proposal of 888 Chinatown Square to lease the property to construct a three-storey structure, with the third floorserving as a parking area that can accommodate about 250 vehicles, be published.

The publication will trigger a public bidding, he added.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan this week granted the governor authority to decide what to do with the property.*CPG
